Better Foliage is a Minecraft Bedrock addon and texture pack by Fused_Bolt. Inspired by Java foliage mods, it makes foliage denser and less repetitive with improved textures, models and extra variants for almost every plant. The builds cover Bedrock 1.21 to 1.21.120.
Use it as a texture pack alone for a purely visual change, or add the behavior pack for the new plants and apples. The trade-off is that shrubs and nether roots are decoration only, and the creator's terms forbid modifying the pack.
What the texture pack changes
- Bushy leaves, with a gear icon setting to switch to round or vanilla leaves
- Saplings modelled as miniature trees, and 3D mushrooms, including on Mooshrooms
- Flowers with 4 to 6 variants each, plus flowered lily pads, a rare giant lily pad and flowered vines
- Grass and ferns with up to 9 variants and a new grass block texture (a file with the vanilla grass block is also offered)
- Falling leaf particles with more variety that land on the ground and drift in water
- 3D sugar cane, bushier kelp, and seagrass tops that resemble cattails
- Flowered cacti, a mini cactus dead bush, three variants of every crop and denser nether foliage
What the behavior pack adds
- Apples that spawn under forest oak trees and grow through 5 stages, sped up with bone meal. Red apples drop apples, golden apples drop golden apples, and big green apples drop a Green Apple that restores 1 hunger bar.
- Shrubs in forests and nether roots under Netherrack, in Nether caves and in Fortresses, neither with any purpose.
- Shears give placeable versions of the apples, shrubs and nether roots. Get every addon block with /function better_foliage or from the Nature category in the creative menu.
How to install Better Foliage on Bedrock
- 1.Get the .mcaddon file from the CurseForge listing and open it with Minecraft (double-click on Windows, open with Minecraft on phones and tablets).
- 2.In the world settings, open Resource Packs and activate Better Foliage.
- 3.For apples, shrubs and nether roots, also activate the pack under Behavior Packs.
- 4.After applying, use the gear icon to choose round or vanilla leaves.
- 5.No experimental toggles are needed, since the newest build requires nothing.

How do I install Better Foliage on Bedrock?
Open the .mcaddon file with Minecraft so it imports. Then, in your world settings, activate Better Foliage under Resource Packs and, if you want apples, shrubs and nether roots, activate the pack under Behavior Packs too. Java Edition cannot load it.
Does Better Foliage need experimental toggles?
No. The newest build lists no requirements, so you do not need to turn on any Experiments toggles in the world settings. Activate the resource pack, add the behavior pack if you want the new plants and apples, and load the world.
Which Bedrock releases does Better Foliage support?
The builds cover Bedrock 1.21 to 1.21.120. The newest one, a .mcaddon file, is the ceiling of that range. Check that your Bedrock release falls inside it before you import the file, since older or newer releases are not listed.
Can I use Better Foliage as a texture pack only?
