How these guides work.

Every guide is written in plain English and shows its last updated date up top. Steps name the exact menu, folder, or file they touch, so you always know which screen you should be looking at instead of guessing from a vague description.

When a guide points at a download, the link goes to that resource's page here, and the resource page links to the original creator's source. No ad gates, no rehosted files, no shady mirrors.

Java and Bedrock are not interchangeable.

Java Edition (Windows, Mac, Linux) installs content through folders: resource packs, mods, and data packs each have a fixed place inside the .minecraft directory. Bedrock (phones, tablets, consoles, and the Microsoft Store app) imports .mcpack and .mcworld files through the game itself, and consoles cannot load loose files at all.

Mixing the two editions is the most common reason an install fails, so every guide states its edition before the first step. A quick file-extension check helps too: .jar means Java, .mcpack or .mcaddon means Bedrock.

Guide questions.

  • Which Minecraft edition do I have?

If you start the game through the Minecraft Launcher on a PC, you are on Java Edition, and the title screen says Minecraft: Java Edition. If you play on a phone, tablet, console, or through the Microsoft Store app, you are on Bedrock, where the title screen just says Minecraft.

  • Do the guides cover the latest Minecraft version?

Each guide shows its last updated date and the versions it was written against. Minecraft now ships quarterly drops, so if a menu or folder has moved since that date, check the guide's version notes before assuming a step is wrong.

  • Are the downloads these guides point to safe?

Guides link to resource pages on this site, and every resource page links to the original creator's source with the expected file type listed. We do not list APK rehosts, cracked launchers, hacked clients, or paid Marketplace content.

  • Is MinecraftHub affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft?
