How these articles work.

A roundup here says how its picks were chosen, using data anyone can check on the source page: downloads, the date of the last update, which versions and loaders are supported, and the licence. We have not played through every pick, and we do not say we have.

A comparison names the trade-off and says who each option suits. An explainer answers the question in its first paragraph. A safety article reports what a platform publishes about its own checks and what has gone wrong in public, with every incident dated and linked. Update news repeats what the official source says and links to it.

Every article shows the date it was published. It shows a second date when a change went live, and a third when its facts were re-read at the source. Outside links sit in a sources list at the end.

Article questions.

  • How are the picks in a roundup chosen?

Each roundup states its method near the top. Picks come from the pages we list, filtered by facts the source page shows, such as downloads, last update, supported versions and loaders, and licence. The order is explained in the article, and every pick links to its page here, which links to the original source.

  • Do you test the mods, packs and shaders you write about?

No. We read the creator's own page, the source repository and the official documentation, and we write only what those sources support. When an article names a limit, such as a heavy performance cost or a loader that stopped getting updates, that comes from the source too.

  • Where does the update news come from?

From the official release notes and announcements for Java Edition and Bedrock Edition. A news article links to the source it is based on and does not add rumours or leaks. If the official source has not said something yet, the article says so instead of guessing.

  • What is the difference between an article and a guide?

A guide walks through a task or a fix, step by step. An article helps with a choice or explains something. If you already know what you want to install, the guides are the faster route.
