What we collect.
Server request logs
When you visit the site, our hosting infrastructure records standard request information including your IP address, user agent string, requested URL, referrer, and timestamp. Logs are used for operational debugging, abuse detection, and traffic analysis. They are kept for a short retention window and then deleted or rolled up into aggregate counts.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used. GA4 may set cookies in your browser and collect a session identifier, page paths, viewport size, language, referrer, and rough geographic location derived from your IP. We use GA4 in standard configuration. We do not enable Google's advertising features inside GA4.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, GA4 reads and sets no cookie until you accept Google Analytics in Mediavine’s consent prompt (described under display advertising below). Until then, or if you decline, it sends Google only cookieless signals: the page, the time, the referrer and your browser’s user agent, with no identifier that links one visit to another. Google uses them for basic counts and to estimate what it cannot measure.
You can opt out by installing the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, by blocking analytics cookies in your browser settings, or by using a content blocker such as uBlock Origin.
Display advertising
The site shows third-party display ads to help cover hosting and operations. Our ad partner is Mediavine, through its Journey by Mediavine program. Mediavine and the advertisers bidding through it may set cookies or use similar technologies to choose and measure ads, cap how often you see one, and (where permitted) show ads based on your interests. Mediavine is an independent business with its own privacy policy. We do not control the data it collects.
Ads run between sections of an article, at the foot of the sidebar, and in a bar along the bottom of the screen. On larger screens a small video player can appear too, and it stays silent unless you turn the sound on. Download pages carry no ads at all, and no ad ever has to be clicked or waited out to reach a file. We run no pop-up or full-screen ads.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Mediavine’s consent prompt asks before any ad cookie or Google Analytics cookie is set. Decline and you still see ads, but none chosen from your browsing. You can change your answer at any time with the “Update Privacy Settings” link at the very bottom of our pages, below the footer. In US states that give you the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your data, a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link sits in the same place. Anywhere, you can opt out of interest-based advertising through YourAdChoices or Your Online Choices, or by using a content blocker.
Mediavine’s own notice on the data it handles for these ads is below. Mediavine supplies it, so it is always their current version. A content blocker can stop it from loading.
What we do not collect.
No public accounts, no profiles, no newsletter list at this stage. We do not ask for your name, your email, your Minecraft username, or your platform identity in order to browse the site. The Contact page is one-directional only, and your message is processed manually.
Children.
The site is open to all ages and the content is Minecraft related. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, beyond the request data described above.
Third-party links.
Every resource page links to the original source. Source pages (Modrinth, CurseForge, MCPEDL, Planet Minecraft, creator websites, others) are operated by third parties with their own privacy policies and cookie practices. Following a download link takes you off MinecraftHub and onto their terms.
Email contact.
When you write to [email protected], your email is delivered to a standard inbox. We retain your message as long as needed to respond, and to keep a record of takedown or correction requests for future reference. If you would like your message deleted from the inbox after we respond, ask in the message.
Your choices and rights.
You can opt out of analytics, block ad cookies, browse with a tracking-blocker extension, or use private browsing. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the “Update Privacy Settings” link below the footer takes back a yes you gave in the consent prompt. You can also ask us, by email, what data we hold about you in connection with a contact thread, and request deletion of that thread.
Where applicable law gives you specific rights (for example GDPR access, rectification, erasure, or restriction rights, or CCPA/CPRA disclosure rights), we will honour them on a best-effort basis. Reach us at [email protected] with the request.
Changes to this policy.
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be clearly noted on the site.
