DeadZone is a zombie apocalypse add-on for Bedrock, inspired by DayZ and made by NekoZack. It is Bedrock only, so Java Edition cannot load it, and it arrives as a single .mcaddon file. The premise is plain survival in a post-apocalyptic world: stay alive as long as you can.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.21.70 to 1.21.73.
What it adds
DeadZone treats the world as a ruined place to scavenge. You search buildings for loot, gear up and build your own story from whatever you find. Its look sets it apart from other zombie add-ons, with weapons drawn in a 2.5D style and a texture set made to match the mood.
- 2.5D styled weapons built for the apocalypse setting
- A range of clothing and accessories to customise your survivor
- A texture style meant to deepen the immersion
- Loot hunting in buildings as the core loop
How to install DeadZone
Open the .mcaddon file with Bedrock to import it: double-click on Windows, or open it with Minecraft on a phone or tablet. If you are new to packs, the guide on installing add-ons on Bedrock covers each platform.
- 1.Download the DeadZone .mcaddon file from the CurseForge page.
- 2.Create a new world or edit an existing one.
- 3.In the world settings, switch on the DeadZone packs under Behavior Packs and Resource Packs.
The listing names no experimental toggles. Because the packs are enabled per world, a world you already play stays untouched until you switch them on.

How do I install DeadZone on Bedrock?
Open the .mcaddon file with Bedrock so it imports automatically. On Windows a double-click works, and on phones or tablets you open the file with Minecraft. Then edit your world and enable the DeadZone behavior pack and resource pack in the world settings.
Does DeadZone work on Java Edition?
No. DeadZone is a Bedrock add-on, and Java Edition cannot load add-ons at all because it uses a different format. It is a Bedrock Edition project only.
What is DeadZone inspired by?
DeadZone takes its inspiration from the survival game DayZ. You play a survivor in a post-apocalyptic world, search buildings for loot, use 2.5D styled weapons and dress in clothing and accessories added by the add-on.
