CorgiLib is a library mod that keeps the code shared across CorgiTaco's projects in one place. It ships for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and it is required on both sides, so single-player worlds, multiplayer hosts and joining players all need it.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.19.2 to 1.21.11. The newest build requires Fabric API; some builds for 1.19.2 to 1.20.1 need no dependencies.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.19.2 to 1.21.11. The newest build needs no dependencies.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.1 to 1.21.11. The newest build needs no dependencies.
- Quilt: Minecraft 1.20.1 to 1.21.11. The newest build requires Fabric API; some builds for 1.20.1 need no dependencies.
What CorgiLib provides
- json5 config serialization built on Mojang's codecs, producing commented json files.
- Commented codecs, so config options explain themselves.
- A trees from NBT feature.
- A blending and easing function codec registry for config serialization.
- Entity filters.
- A villager trade codec registry for config serialization.
How to install CorgiLib
- 1.Install the loader you want for the Minecraft release you play, following the Fabric guide or the Forge and NeoForge guide.
- 2.Pick the CorgiLib file that matches that loader and release from the Modrinth page.
- 3.Put it in the mods folder of your Minecraft directory, next to any dependency listed for that file.
- 4.Launch with the loader's profile. On a dedicated host, add the same file to its mods folder.
Who needs it
CorgiLib holds code used in CorgiTaco's mods, so you install it alongside them. The trade-off is simple: it is one more file to keep in step with every player and host. General steps are in the mod install guide.
Developers can pull it from the maven at maven.jt-dev.tech using dev.corgitaco:Corgilib-Common, Corgilib-Fabric, Corgilib-Forge or Corgilib-NeoForge, followed by the release number. The code is on GitHub under the Mozilla Public License 2.0.
Questions about CorgiLib.
5 questions
What is CorgiLib used for?
CorgiLib is a shared code library for CorgiTaco's mods. It supplies commented json5 config serialization, codec registries for easing functions and villager trades, entity filters and a trees from NBT feature. It is a Java Edition library that loads through Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt, and it is required on both sides of a multiplayer setup, so every player and the host need a matching file.
Do I need CorgiLib on a multiplayer host?
Yes. CorgiLib is required on both sides, so the machine hosting the world and every player joining it should have a matching file. Put it in the mods folder next to your other mods, and choose the file made for the same loader and Minecraft release as the rest of your setup.
Does CorgiLib work with Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt?
It has files for all four loaders. Fabric and Forge cover 1.19.2 to 1.21.11, while NeoForge and Quilt start at 1.20.1. Each file only runs on the loader it was made for, so choose the one matching your setup.
Does CorgiLib need Fabric API?
It depends on the file. The newest Fabric and Quilt files need Fabric API, while the newest Forge and NeoForge files need no dependencies. Some older Fabric and Quilt files also ran without it, so check the requirements listed with the file you pick.
Does CorgiLib work on Bedrock?
No. CorgiLib is a Java Edition mod that loads through Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt. Bedrock Edition uses a different add-on format and cannot load it.
