Actual Knives is a Bedrock addon from AzozGamer936 that adds a set of 3D knives to survival play, from butterfly knives to karambits. It ships as a single .mcaddon file, and Java players cannot load it.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 26.50.

What it adds

The roster covers the Seal Knife, Nata Knife, Flip Knife, Karambit, M9 Bayonet, Kukri, Seal Cleaver and Butterfly Knife. Three more come as Matt's variants: Seal Knife, Butterfly Knife and Kukri Knife. All of them sit in the swords section of the item list.

  • Health and damage are based on default hearts, so the knives fit a normal survival balance.
  • Some knives can inspect. Crouch (shift) to trigger it.
  • Dropped knives appear as 3D models.
  • Skins are not available yet. They are planned for later updates based on feedback.

How to install Actual Knives

  1. 1.Open Actual Knives.mcaddon with Bedrock so it imports. The steps are in how to install add-ons on Bedrock.
  2. 2.Switch on the behavior pack and resource pack in your world's settings.
  3. 3.Open the swords section and pick a knife.

The newest file lists no required experiments. If the knives do not appear, work through fixing add-ons that do not work.

Trade-offs

Even with current Bedrock capabilities, the knives need a player.json to register when the player lands a hit. It is a workaround, and AzozGamer936 plans to remove it once hits can register without it. The scope is also narrow. This is a knife pack with no skins yet, not a full weapon overhaul.

Questions about Actual Knives.

4 questions

How do I install Actual Knives on Bedrock?

Open the Actual Knives.mcaddon file with Bedrock and it imports automatically. Then create or edit a world, switch on the behavior pack and the resource pack in its settings, and load in. The knives are listed in the swords section of the item list.

Can I use Actual Knives together with Actual Guns 2?

No. Actual Knives should not be enabled alongside Actual Guns 2, because Actual Guns 2 already has these knives. Running both addons in the same world only duplicates them. If you use Actual Guns 2, you already have the knives and can skip this addon. Use Actual Knives on its own when you do not run Actual Guns 2.

Does Actual Knives need experimental toggles?

The newest file lists no required experiments, so no extra toggles are named for it. You still need to activate the behavior and resource packs for each world where you want the knives. The addon does rely on a player.json to register hits.

Why does Actual Knives include a player.json?

The knives need a player.json so Bedrock registers when the player is hitting with them. The creator calls this a limit of current capabilities and plans to remove the file once hits can register without it.
