The True Weapons addon adds a large set of hand-held weapons to Minecraft Bedrock Edition, built by TrueCowboy. Builds cover Bedrock 1.21.2 to 26.0.02, and the newest build (v1.24.3, February 2026) requires no other pack. It is Bedrock only and it is compatible with other addons.

What it adds

Knives, katanas, long swords, a barbed mace, a war fan, kamas, bearded axes, a dane axe and more, in different materials. Each weapon type behaves differently. Most weapons with abilities carry an in-game description of what they do and what their weakness is, so you can choose between a katana, a machete or a sword on purpose.

  • Two-handed weapons use an updated holding pose, and heavy weapons have their own particle.
  • Weapons sit in their own creative inventory categories, and a Christmas-themed set is included.
  • Copper weapons and the newer weapons have recipes, and a smithing table upgrades diamond weapons to netherite.

Installation

Import the download by opening it with Minecraft, then switch on its behavior and resource packs in the world settings. The install guide for Bedrock add-ons covers each platform. If the weapons do not appear, the add-ons troubleshooting guide lists the usual causes.

Recent changes

Version 1.24.3 fixes the enchantment glint on the items, axe wear display and a language issue. Version 1.24.2 added achievement support. The 1.24.1 update added copper weapon recipes, fixed weapon effects not applying, and repaired the sledgehammer.

The focus is narrow, weapons and their abilities, and Java Edition cannot load it.

Questions about True Weapons.

5 questions

How do I install True Weapons on Bedrock?

Download the files from CurseForge and open them with Minecraft so they import. Then create or edit a world and turn on both the behavior pack and the resource pack in its settings. The add-on is Bedrock Edition only, so it will not load in Java Edition.

Does True Weapons need experimental toggles?

The newest build, v1.24.3, lists no requirements, and the listing names no experimental toggles. You still need to activate the behavior and resource packs on each world where you want the weapons.

Which Minecraft versions does True Weapons support?

Its builds cover Bedrock Edition 1.21.2 to 26.0.02. The newest build is v1.24.3, published in February 2026. The listing was last updated in March 2026, so it is actively maintained.

Is True Weapons compatible with other addons?

The creator tags it as compatible with other addons, and it needs no dependency pack. It adds its own weapons and recipes, so another addon that changes the same items could still clash. Test the combination in a new world first.

Does True Weapons work on Realms or servers?

The CurseForge listing does not state Realms or dedicated server support, so it is not confirmed either way. Check the project page before relying on it for shared play, and use the install guides for general add-on setup.
