Not on their own. Mojang says achievements work with every add-on released through Minecraft Marketplace on Bedrock Edition, on all platforms, since 15 July 2025. Add-ons from outside the Marketplace do not qualify, and cheats, experiments, Creative mode and world templates still switch achievements off.
This applies to Bedrock Edition only. We read Mojang's pages on 20 October 2026 and did not play, test or scan any add-on, so everything here is Mojang's wording, not our observation.
What turns achievements off in a Bedrock world
Mojang's help page on unlocking achievements (text last edited 18 March 2026) lists three requirements: a connected Microsoft account, a Survival mode world, and an active internet connection. It adds that achievements are disabled if a Realm or world is, or was, set to Creative mode, is flat, or had cheats, experiments, certain Marketplace add-ons or world templates enabled. The word "was" matters: Mojang's wording suggests an earlier switch is not undone by turning the setting back.

Do behavior packs and resource packs disable achievements
Mojang defines an add-on as Marketplace content containing a resource pack, a behavior pack, or both. The help page on achievements does not name behavior packs or resource packs as a cause. Its news post states the opposite for Marketplace add-ons: "achievements are enabled for all add-ons," with no cap on how many you stack.
One practical catch follows from Mojang's own rules. An add-on that needs Experiments toggles switched on falls under the experiments rule, so by that wording it would turn achievements off whatever its pack type. Mojang's pages do not say which Marketplace add-ons need those toggles.
What Mojang changed for Marketplace add-ons
The 15 July 2025 post, "Achievements now work with add-ons," says you can earn achievements and their rewards (Character Creator items and emotes) in worlds with add-ons installed. Mojang says it cannot retroactively award achievements from earlier add-on worlds. It also says creators now face policies that prohibit add-ons designed to earn difficult achievements, or as many as possible.
The two Mojang pages do not fully line up. The news post says all Marketplace add-ons are enabled, yet the help page, edited eight months later, still says "certain Marketplace add-ons" disable achievements. The pages do not explain the difference, so treat the help page's wording as the stricter reading until Mojang clarifies.
What achievement friendly means on a listing
Mojang uses no such label. Its pages hold no definition of "achievement friendly," and no criteria for a creator to claim it. Read it as a listing's own claim, not a Mojang rating. The only test Mojang states is where the add-on was released: through Marketplace, achievements are enabled; elsewhere, they are not. Mojang gives its reason: avoiding mods that let players earn many achievements unfairly fast.
What this means if you use add-ons
If achievements matter to you, the pages above point to Marketplace add-ons, with no experiment toggles and no cheats. Mojang says add-ons not released through the Marketplace do not enable achievements, so check where an add-on was released, including any you find on our Bedrock add-ons listing, before assuming otherwise. For how packs are switched on per world, see how to install add-ons on Minecraft Bedrock and what Minecraft add-ons are.
If you want add-ons in a world you care about, back up the world first and use a separate world for experiments. Mojang's help page says achievements are disabled if a world is, or was, set to Creative mode or had cheats enabled. If an add-on will not load, see fix add-ons not working in Minecraft Bedrock.

- Whether a non-Marketplace add-on switches achievements off in the world or only fails to enable them.
- Any definition of "achievement friendly" or any badge for it.
- How add-ons affect PlayStation trophies.
