Is Minecraft in Game Pass and what you get with it

Yes, Minecraft is in Game Pass. Xbox's Minecraft page labels the Standard Edition "Included with Game Pass" for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows 10/11, and the PC store listing names PC Game Pass as a subscription that includes the Java & Bedrock Edition for PC. Realms Plus and Marketplace Pass are listed separately. Facts below were read on 11 October 2026.

What Game Pass includes for Minecraft

Xbox describes Game Pass as "hundreds of high-quality games for one low monthly price". Its Minecraft page gives no subscription price, so none is stated here. The "Included with Game Pass" label sits on the Standard Edition, while the Deluxe Collection, Ultimate Collection and Triple Bundle are listed as purchases with extras such as add-ons and Minecoins.

Which editions you get on PC and on console

The PC bundle holds the Minecraft Launcher, Minecraft for Windows (Bedrock) and Minecraft: Java Edition. Minecraft's own edition guide says Java runs on Windows, Mac and Linux, and Bedrock runs on Windows 10 and 11, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, Android and iOS. For the differences, see Minecraft Java vs Bedrock Edition.

What a Game Pass player gets

A subscriber gets the base game: Creative, Survival, split-screen on console, and cross-play across Windows PCs, Android, iOS, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and VR, per Xbox's footnote. The PC listing adds that you can switch between the Java and Bedrock games from one launcher. Whether the other editions' extras come with it is not stated in the sources. What Game Pass does not include

Xbox lists Minecraft Realms Plus and Marketplace Pass under "Add-ons", with Marketplace Pass at $3.99 per month for 150+ pieces of content. Minecraft.net says a Realms Plus subscription includes Marketplace Pass, and that active Realms Plus subscribers cannot also subscribe to it. Neither page says Game Pass covers either one, so treat them as extra cost. Our page on Marketplace Pass and Minecoins covers the difference.

Marketplace content is Bedrock only. Xbox states the Marketplace is not accessible in Java Edition, and Minecraft.net says Marketplace Pass is not supported on Java Edition. A Java player on Game Pass therefore gets the game and no Marketplace. Realms comes in two forms: Realms for Java and Realms Plus for Bedrock, each for up to 10 players.

How Game Pass differs from owning the game

The Indonesian PC store listing shows Java & Bedrock Edition for PC from Rp598.000, with Deluxe at Rp797.000 and Ultimate at Rp996.000, all read 11 October 2026. Those higher tiers bundle add-ons and Minecoins (700 and 1000), which the Game Pass entry does not list. Minecraft.net also says owning one edition on Windows 10 or 11 entitles you to the other for free.

The sources do not say what happens to your worlds or access when a Game Pass membership ends, so check Xbox support before relying on it.

Which option suits which player

If you only want to try the base game on Xbox or PC, Game Pass fits and the sources show the base game covered. If you want Deluxe or Ultimate extras, Marketplace Pass or Realms Plus, plan to pay on top. If you want to mod Java, Minecraft.net notes Java suits players willing to learn about mods, and our mod guide explains how to install them. Sources were Xbox and Minecraft.net pages. We did not test a subscription or check regional pricing.
