Walled glade base surrounded by the maze walls in the Maze Runner CTM map

Maze Runner CTM is a vanilla Minecraft survival map for Java Edition 1.21.8 that recreates The Maze Runner movie. Players spawn inside a 300x300 block glade enclosed by a maze whose corridors rearrange between two layouts, and must survive Grievers (enhanced spiders) while completing a Complete the Monument objective in each maze domain to progress toward the exit.

How to install Maze Runner CTM

  1. 1.Download the map world folder from the CurseForge project page.
  2. 2.Copy the extracted folder into your Minecraft saves directory.
  3. 3.Launch Minecraft 1.21.8 and select the map from the Singleplayer world list.
  4. 4.Stand on the diamond block at spawn to open the interactive setup menu, or run /tp 0 200 0 to teleport straight to the glade.

How to play

The glade is the only safe zone; the surrounding maze opens by day and closes at night, when Grievers roam the corridors. Each maze section (Narrows, Inner Ring, and Outer Sections) escalates in difficulty and hides a monument that must be completed before the section's exit unlocks. A full playthrough runs an estimated 20 to 40 hours across all domains.

Required resource pack

Maze Runner CTM bundles a custom resource pack for its audio cues and visual effects. Accept the pack prompt when the world loads so maze sounds, monument markers, and Griever effects display correctly.

Known issues

  • Built and tested for Minecraft 1.21.8; older or newer versions are not guaranteed to run the command block logic correctly.
  • Low render distance can cause maze wall changes to generate late or inconsistently.
  • Designed around solo survival progression; large multiplayer parties may clear monuments faster than the pacing intends.

Questions about Maze Runner CTM.

5 questions

How do I install Maze Runner CTM?

Download the world folder from the creator's CurseForge project page, place it in your Minecraft saves folder, and load it from Singleplayer on version 1.21.8. Accept the bundled resource pack prompt so the maze audio and visual cues work as intended.

How long does Maze Runner CTM take to finish?

A full playthrough across the Narrows, Inner Ring, and Outer Sections is estimated at 20 to 40 hours, depending on how quickly a player solves each domain's Complete the Monument objective and survives the nightly Griever spawns.

Does Maze Runner CTM need a resource pack?

Yes. The map ships with a bundled resource pack for maze audio cues and visual effects. Accept the pack when prompted on world load; skipping it does not break progression but removes intended audio and visual feedback.

Which Minecraft version does Maze Runner CTM support?

Maze Runner CTM is built and maintained for Minecraft Java Edition 1.21.8. The command block logic that drives the maze and monument tracking is tied to that release, so other versions are not officially supported.

Is Maze Runner CTM safe to use?

Maze Runner CTM is distributed free of charge through the creator's CurseForge project page. All rights to the map are reserved by the creator, Krypno, who requests a donation only for monetized use such as paid content.
