Dungeon Heroes is a dungeon crawler modpack for Minecraft Java on Fabric, made for co-op and playable solo. It pairs a guided quest line with eight RPG classes, 30+ dungeons and 13 boss fights, all laid over a vanilla survival world. Its own tagline calls it Minecraft Dungeons meets vanilla survival.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.20.1 to 1.21.1.
Classes, spells and skills
You pick one of eight classic archetypes, such as wizard, archer or paladin. The attribute system is simple but has depth: 60+ spells, 40+ passive abilities and a skill tree of 200+ nodes. Spell scrolls unlock spells faster, and an Orb of Oblivion resets and refunds skill points if you want to respec.
Dungeons, bosses and loot
The 30+ dungeons and 13 bosses are spread across several dimensions, and a quest book steers you from one to the next. Difficulty and rewards scale by zone. You start in a village with a tavern you can move into early. Over 400 loot items include legendary armor and weapons from famous RPGs, and every class gets roughly the same number of rewards. Dungeon loot beats crafted gear.
Survival tweaks
- Equipment loses durability far more slowly, and anvil repairs cost much less.
- Enchantment slots are limited, so you make real choices.
- Hunger drains slower and natural regeneration is slower, which leaves room for healer and support roles.
- Armor damage reduction follows a hyperbolic curve, so high armor totals like a full diamond set matter less.
- Critical hits are chance based, and vanilla jump crits are disabled.
Installation and tips
Get the pack from CurseForge. Our guide to installing a modpack from CurseForge or Modrinth covers the steps, and the Fabric loader guide helps if you set up the loader by hand. Set difficulty to at least medium, and expect early dungeons to be tough. Bring at least one heavily armored teammate, a paladin or warrior. Use /team to share some XP and /ftbteams to share quest objectives.
Shaders are included, and ComplementaryUnbound is the recommended choice because it works with the spell effects. Third person view helps in open fields.

Questions about Dungeon Heroes (RPG Series).
4 questions
How do I install Dungeon Heroes?
Download the pack from its CurseForge page and follow our guide to installing a modpack from CurseForge or Modrinth, with the Fabric loader guide as backup. Once it is running, pick a class from the guided tutorial and follow the quest book into your first dungeon.
Can I play Dungeon Heroes solo?
Yes. It is designed for multiplayer, but the creator states it is perfectly playable in single player too. Co-op adds team commands for sharing XP and quest objectives, and a heavily armored teammate helps in early dungeons. Solo players should gear up carefully before the first fights.
Which classes are in Dungeon Heroes?
There are eight playable classes built on classic RPG archetypes, including wizard, archer, paladin and warrior. Each has access to roughly the same amount of loot. A guided tutorial walks you through class selection and skill use at the start.
Does Dungeon Heroes include shaders?
Yes, shaders come with the pack. ComplementaryUnbound is the recommended choice, since it is compatible with spells. The same settings advice covers keybinds: spell hotkeys are assigned for a modern gaming mouse, so players without a five button mouse should reset the spell hotbar keybinds to their defaults.
