MC Rebalanced is a modpack that rethinks progression across almost every feature of Minecraft Java. It ships for Fabric and Forge, and both players and the host of a multiplayer world need it installed. It works as a baseplate for playing the traditional timeline with a reordered sequence of materials.

What it changes
Every loot table, dimension, tool and weapon is retuned around when and where you meet it. The pack does not sharply raise difficulty. It pushes you toward the challenging parts vanilla already has.
- Gold replaces diamond as the progression metal. Diamond moves to the Nether and netherite moves to the End, renamed dendrite.
- Wooden tools merge into one paxel, and stone tools become copper.
- Ore generation follows material tier, and dendrite appears high in the new End Heights biome.
- Chest and most mob loot tables are reworked, so golems no longer skip tiers while bastions and cities pay better.
- Skeletons punish rushing, zombies punish backing off too fast, and axes stay useful into the endgame.
How to install MC Rebalanced
Open the Modrinth page, then import the pack into the Modrinth App, Prism Launcher or another launcher that reads .mrpack files. The launcher fetches the listed mods and the right loader. Does MC Rebalanced make Minecraft harder?
Not by design. The pack reorders progression and rewrites loot, ores and mob behaviour, but it does not massively raise difficulty. Instead it nudges you to engage with challenges that already exist in vanilla, such as rushing skeletons or retreating from zombies, which now carry penalties. All of them remain avoidable.
Do I need MC Rebalanced on both sides in multiplayer?
Yes. The pack is required for players and for the host, so everyone joining runs the same pack.
Where do diamonds and netherite come from in MC Rebalanced?
Diamond has moved to the Nether, and netherite has moved to the End, where it is renamed dendrite and generates high up in the End Heights biome. Gold now holds the place diamond used to have in the progression.
