Prominence II: Hasturian Era, usually searched as Prominence 2, is a lore-driven RPG modpack for Minecraft Java Edition on the Fabric loader. It targets 1.20.1 and nothing above it, and because Fabric is a Java Edition loader, no Bedrock device can run it. Progression is the whole point. Quests and two story campaigns replace the vanilla loop, a talent tree stands in for classes, and artifact weapons you forge and upgrade carry the endgame.
How a Prominence 2 run is structured
You play one of the Flameborn of Vaaz and work through two campaigns, The Void's Invasion and The Hasturian Era, that unlock in chapters as your character level rises. The Kingdom of Vaaz, a capital city with shops, quest NPCs and voice-acted dialogue, is reachable from early on and changes as the campaign advances. Bosses are paced against that curve, from The Night Lich at around level 10 to The Fallen Icon at 50. Everything past Chapter I of The Void's Invasion counts as late game and starts at level 50, so a full run is a long commitment rather than a weekend.
- Two story campaigns, The Void's Invasion and The Hasturian Era, unlocked chapter by chapter
- The Kingdom of Vaaz, a capital city with shops, quest NPCs and voice-acted dialogue that changes as you progress
- A custom leveling system with mobs that scale to your character level
- The Primordial Forge armor sets, unlocked in Chapter II of the Hasturian Era
- Mythic Challenges, timed boss encounters with infinite scaling difficulty and random affixes
- Transmogrification, so gear appearance is separate from gear stats
- Custom textures, GUI and hotbar in the pack's volcanic style
Talent tree and character progression
Character growth runs through a custom Talent Tree with 10 fates, 100 stat talents, 16 passive talents and 5 active abilities. There is no fixed class list. You build one out of the tree, so two players in the same session can end up with completely different kits. Talent points arrive every two levels, which means a build fills out over real playtime instead of being decided in the first hour.
Artifact weapons and the endgame
The artifact system drives the endgame. You obtain the Molten Core through the campaign, forge an artifact with it, then push that weapon through its own upgrade tree by spending Artifact Power earned from Molten Remnants. Chapter II of the Hasturian Era unlocks the Primordial Forge and its tiered armor sets, and Mythic Challenges open after that as repeatable timed boss fights that scale without a ceiling. Losing all three lives in a multiplayer Mythic encounter drops the Unholy Hourglass level, so the difficulty curve pushes back.
System requirements and RAM allocation
Prominence 2 is a heavy pack. Release 4.0.3 downloads as a single .mrpack file of roughly 400 MB before the launcher pulls anything else, and it needs the Fabric loader on Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.1. Both sides are required, so a client without the pack cannot join a server running it, and a plain server cannot host it.
- Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.1 on Fabric, with no build for any newer release, so you will want a separate 1.20.1 profile if your launcher sits on a newer version
- Client and server both need the full pack installed
- Latest release is 4.0.3, published 28 August 2026, one of 95 releases so far
- Server memory starts at 8 GB for a group of three to four players, plus 1 GB for each extra player, so ten players lands near 14 GB
- Past roughly fifteen concurrent players, CPU clock speed matters as much as memory
- No client memory figure is published. If the game stutters or crashes on world load, allocating more RAM to the profile is the first thing to try
Mods in Prominence II Hasturian Era
Prominence II Hasturian Era bundles 407 Fabric mods in its current release manifest, not counting the resource packs, translation packs, and data packs shipped in the same download. We pulled this list from the official .mrpack manifest and grouped it by what each mod does, using Modrinth's own project categories rather than guesswork.

How to install Prominence 2
- 1.Use a launcher that reads Modrinth modpacks. The Modrinth App and Prism Launcher both open the .mrpack file directly, and the pack also has a CurseForge listing for the CurseForge app. Our walkthrough for installing a Minecraft modpack covers both routes.
- 2.Open the Modrinth project linked on this page and install the newest release, or import the .mrpack file into Prism yourself.
- 3.Let the launcher set up Fabric and Minecraft 1.20.1. A modpack install pins both, so you do not need to install the Fabric loader by hand.
- 4.Raise the memory allocated to that profile before the first launch rather than after the first crash.
- 5.For a server, either pick a host that installs the pack for you or build one from the server files in the CurseForge additional files, which ship with a HOW_TO_RUN file per operating system.
Multiplayer and dedicated servers
Prominence 2 plays fine solo and is built for small groups. Mob scaling accounts for party size, and Mythic Challenge encounters give a party up to three lives before the Unholy Hourglass level drops. Two hosting routes exist. A managed host can install the pack in one step, or you can self-host from the server files distributed alongside the CurseForge release. There is also a public server browser for the pack if you would rather join a running world than run one.
How Prominence 2 compares to other quest packs
Prominence 2 sits at the RPG end of the questing packs. It cares more about builds, gear tiers and boss rotations than about sheer mod count, and that is the trade-off worth understanding before a 400 MB download. Three packs in the same corner are worth weighing against it.
- Aged is the closest survival comparison, also Fabric 1.20.1, but progression there runs on seasons, body temperature and job skills instead of a talent tree
- Better MC BMC2 bundles far more mods on the same loader and version, so pick it for breadth and vanilla-plus variety rather than one designed RPG system
- Cave Horror Project 1 is the quest-heavy alternative on Forge, built around horror and a long story chapter list
- Homestead is the calm option, farming and light questing, for players who find scaling boss fights exhausting
Prominence II suits players who want a structured RPG experience with progression gates, story context, and purpose-built boss encounters. If your play style leans toward open-ended building, redstone, or pure survival without quest structure, the modpack will feel restrictive. For players drawn to questing, class builds, and character gear progression, it is a strong Fabric option on 1.20.1.
Questions about Prominence II Hasturian Era.
7 questions
Does Prominence 2 work on a vanilla Minecraft server?
No. Both the client and the server need the full Prominence II modpack installed. A vanilla 1.20.1 server cannot load the pack's custom content, and a vanilla client cannot join a server running it. You either host a dedicated server from the pack's server files or join one that already runs it.
How do I install Prominence 2?
Install it through a launcher that reads Modrinth modpacks. The Modrinth App and Prism Launcher both handle the .mrpack file directly, and there is a CurseForge listing for the CurseForge app. The launcher sets up Fabric and Minecraft 1.20.1 for you, so the one manual step worth doing first is raising the memory allocated to that profile.
Can you play Prominence 2 solo?
Yes. Everything works in singleplayer and the campaigns are built to be finished alone. Mob scaling and party balance are there for groups, and Mythic Challenge encounters give a party up to three lives, but no part of the progression is gated behind having other players with you.
How much RAM does a Prominence 2 server need?
Start at 8 GB for a group of three to four players and add 1 GB for every extra player, so ten players works out near 14 GB. Past roughly fifteen concurrent players, CPU clock speed matters as much as memory. No client figure is published, so raise your launcher allocation if the pack stutters while loading a world.
Which Minecraft version does Prominence 2 support?
Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.1, and only that version. All 95 releases on Modrinth target 1.20.1 on the Fabric loader, including 4.0.3 from August 2026, so there is no build for any newer Minecraft drop. Fabric is a Java Edition loader, which also means the pack cannot run on Bedrock Edition on console, mobile, or Windows.
What is the difference between Prominence II RPG and Prominence II Classic?
Hasturian Era is the RPG edition, built on Fabric, and it carries the talent tree, campaigns, artifacts and voiced NPCs. Prominence II Classic is a separate pack built on Forge, aimed at a broader modded survival experience without the RPG layer. They are distinct downloads with different mod lists, so pick the one matching the experience you want.
How many mods are in Prominence II Hasturian Era?
Prominence II Hasturian Era ships 407 Fabric mods in its current release manifest, not counting the resource packs and data packs bundled in the same download. They split across core libraries and performance, combat and magic, exploration and world generation, tech and storage, food, decoration, and quality-of-life fixes. See the full breakdown in the mods section above.
