Homestead is a cozy homesteading survival modpack for Minecraft Java, built on Fabric for version 1.20.1. It hands players a hand-crafted world full of quests, farming, and building projects instead of tech trees or combat grinding, with built-in shaders so the relaxed pace still looks cinematic out of the box.

What's included in Homestead

  • Fabric loader for Minecraft 1.20.1
  • A guided but open quest line through a hand-crafted world
  • Expanded farming, cooking, and homesteading mechanics
  • New wildlife and creatures to raise and interact with
  • Shaders bundled and preconfigured, switchable from potato-friendly to cinematic presets
  • A custom world creation screen with additional generation options

How to install Homestead

  1. 1.Set up a Fabric-compatible Minecraft client, such as the Modrinth App.
  2. 2.Open the Homestead page on Modrinth and download the modpack through the Modrinth App, or import the .mrpack file into your preferred Fabric-compatible client.
  3. 3.On first launch, Homestead shows a setup screen in place of the FTB app screen (FTB packs cannot be distributed directly through Modrinth); follow its on-screen steps to finish setup.
  4. 4.Use the custom Create World screen to start a new world, then follow the in-game quest line to get oriented.

Multiplayer and server support

Homestead requires the modpack on both the client and the server, so every player in a world needs the same Fabric mod set installed. The pack is built with shared, cooperative worlds in mind: farming, building, and questing all carry over cleanly to a dedicated server as long as the server runs the matching Homestead version.

Which Minecraft version does Homestead support?

Homestead currently targets Minecraft Java Edition 1.20.1 on Fabric.

Does Homestead include shaders?
