Chipped adds more than 10,000 chiseled decoration blocks to Minecraft Java, turning vanilla and modded wood, stone, wool, and glass into matching variants through seven themed crafting stations instead of one crafting menu. It runs on Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge, needs to be installed on both the client and the server, and depends on other mods to load at all rather than working standalone.
Required dependencies
Every loader build needs Athena, a connected-texture library from the same terrarium-earth ecosystem, and Resourceful Lib, a shared utility mod. The Fabric build also requires Fabric API; Forge and NeoForge do not, since those loaders handle the equivalent hooks internally. Resourceful Lib is maintained mainly by a separate developer, epic_oreo, with only one contributor, ThatGravyBoat, shared with Chipped's own team, so it reads as a dependency rather than a sibling project.
Version support across Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge
The three loaders are not on equal footing. Fabric and NeoForge both reached Minecraft 1.21.1 with build 4.0.2, published 15 October 2024. Forge stopped a full major version earlier, at 1.20.1 with build 3.0.7, published the same day: the mod's most recent loader update did not carry Forge past that version.

Compatibility with other decoration and texture mods
Chipped's own creators also make Handcrafted, another decoration mod they list as a companion project built to sit alongside Chipped's blocks. Cross-mod wood support otherwise runs through third-party compatibility addons such as Every Compat, which generate Chipped variants for other mods' wood types. That generation has to track every new Chipped release, so a fresh build can briefly leave an addon's recipes broken until it ships a matching fix, as happened with a resolved Every Compat regression in October 2025. A missing variant for a modded wood type is usually the addon's changelog to check, not a Chipped bug.
Licence and source
Chipped's own LICENSE file, the Terrarium License, splits the project in two: source code such as Java classes, build scripts, and config files is MIT licensed, while textures, models, and other non-code assets are all rights reserved.
