Clean F3 is a lightweight, open-source Minecraft Java mod that tidies the F3 debug screen by removing information most players never read. It runs on Fabric and NeoForge and works on the client side only, so install it on the player's machine and nowhere else.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.17.1 to 1.21.8. The newest build requires MidnightLib; some builds for 1.17.1 to 1.19.4 require Fabric API.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.21 to 1.21.8. The newest build requires Forgified Fabric API, MidnightLib and Sinytra Connector.
What it removes
Settings are changed in a config screen provided by MidnightLib. The mod trims lines from the vanilla overlay and also hides lines that other mods add. Named targets include:
- Distant Horizons, EntityCulling and ModernFix
- Iris, Sodium and LambDynamicLights
- JourneyMap, Litematica and Presence Footsteps
- ViaFabric
ImmediatelyFast has no toggle here because it already has its own option to disable its debug info. For a mod that is missing, the creator asks for an issue on GitHub with the mod's name. Hiding those lines is a deliberate choice, so turn them back on if a mod author asks for a debug screenshot in a bug report.
Installing on Fabric and NeoForge

Clean F3 is developed against Fabric. NeoForge works through Sinytra Connector, and the newest NeoForge file is a beta. The creator notes that this route does not work with Forge 1.20.1.

Does Clean F3 work on NeoForge?
Yes, through Sinytra Connector. The mod itself is developed against Fabric, and the NeoForge files need Forgified Fabric API, MidnightLib and Connector alongside them. The newest NeoForge file is a beta, and the creator says the Connector route does not work with Forge 1.20.1.
Will Clean F3 be updated past 1.21.8?
No. The creator states that vanilla now has its own system for customizing what appears on the F3 screen, so the mod is no longer needed on modern releases. Players on newer releases should use the built-in options instead.
