Create: Storage is a create storage mod for NeoForge and Forge that adds tiered Storage Boxes, a networked bulk storage system and wearable backpacks to Create. Its blocks follow Create's look and work with its filters, wrenches, goggles and Ponder scenes. It is needed on both sides, so players and any multiplayer host must run it.

Loaders and versions

  • NeoForge: Minecraft 1.21.1. The newest build requires Create, optionally Vanilla Backport, Thirst Was Reclaimed, Every Compat (Wood Good) and Curios API; some builds for 1.21.1 need no dependencies.
  • Forge: Minecraft 1.20.1. The newest build requires Create, optionally Vanilla Backport, Every Compat (Wood Good) and Curios API; some builds for 1.20.1 need no dependencies.

Storage boxes and the network

Storage Boxes come in cardboard, iron, andesite, copper, brass and hardened variants. Each has a Create filter slot, a front display showing item counts and how full it is, and an indicator light for full, empty or void mode. You can add items by interacting with the box, and sneak with an empty hand to open its GUI.

Simple Storage Boxes go the other way: one item type each, 2048 items by default for a stackable like oak logs, set automatically by the first item inserted. A Void Upgrade deletes surplus, and Capacity Upgrades double the size up to 9 times.

  • Storage Controller: the central input and output hub, linked to boxes through Storage Trim blocks.
  • Storage Interface: automation-only access for hoppers, chutes and funnels, with a filtered variant.
  • Reserve Barrel: 27 slots plus up to 9 reserved items, so automation only takes the surplus above your minimum while players and Deployers can always take items.

Backpacks

Backpacks are wearable storage in several material variants, each with its own capacity and upgrade slots. They have multiple compartments and are designed to work with automation systems. The mod also adds Passer blocks for moving items.

Installation

  1. 1.Install the loader that matches your build, using the Forge and NeoForge guide if needed.
  2. 2.Put the mod file and the required Create file in the mods folder, as described in the mod installation guide.
  3. 3.Add optional extras such as Curios API only if you want the integrations.
  4. 4.Launch with the loader's profile, and repeat the same setup on the multiplayer host.

Questions about Create: Storage.

4 questions

Does Create: Storage need the Create mod?

The newest builds for both loaders require Create, so install it alongside this mod. Vanilla Backport, Curios API and Every Compat are optional. Some older builds list no dependencies, but current players should plan on having Create installed.

Does Create: Storage work on multiplayer servers?

Yes, but it is required on both sides. Players and the host must run the mod with matching loader and game release, otherwise the storage blocks and backpacks will not load correctly together.

Can I use Create: Storage on Fabric?

No. It is published for NeoForge and Forge only, and each loader has its own builds for a single release. A Fabric setup cannot load either of them.

How much can a Simple Storage Box hold?

By default a box holds 32 times the item's maximum stack size of one item type, such as 2048 oak logs or 512 ender pearls. Capacity Upgrades double that up to 9 times, and a Void Upgrade deletes surplus.
