What Kiwi works with.

|---|---|
| Loaders | Fabric, NeoForge, Quilt, Forge |
| Minecraft versions | 1.18.2, 1.19.4, 1.20.6, 1.21.1, 26.1.2 |

Kiwi is a modding library from Snownee that a handful of their other mods depend on for shared plumbing, plus a set of standalone quality-of-life tweaks. It ships for Fabric, NeoForge, Quilt and Forge, works on the client or the server, and every extra behavior it adds can be toggled off.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.18.2 to 26.1.2. The newest build requires Fabric API, optionally Cloth Config API.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.1 to 26.1.2. The newest build needs no dependencies, optionally Cloth Config API.
- Quilt: Minecraft 1.20 to 26.1.2. The newest build requires Fabric API, optionally Cloth Config API.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.18.2 to 1.20.1. The newest build needs no dependencies, optionally Cloth Config API.
What Kiwi changes
- Disables Microsoft's telemetry collection by default
- Adds a simple command calculator through /kalc
- Adds /kiwic quiet to mute current toast notifications and sounds
- Can suppress the experimental world settings warning, though this stays off by default
- Can disable the fading effect on resource reload or the main menu, also off by default
Configuration
Every optional feature above lives in a config file, but Kiwi has no built-in screen for editing it. Installing Cloth Config API adds an in-game settings menu for those toggles on every loader; without it, changes mean editing the config file by hand.
Who needs it
Anyone installing it purely for the tooltip and telemetry tweaks gets a lightweight library with a narrow, utility-only feature set rather than a standalone content mod.
Questions about Kiwi.
3 questions
What does Kiwi actually add to the game
Kiwi is mainly infrastructure for Snownee's other mods, but on its own it adds NBT and tag display in item tooltips, a telemetry opt-out, a /kalc command calculator, and /kiwic quiet for muting toast notifications and sounds.
Do I need Cloth Config to use Kiwi
No. Kiwi's tweaks work from its config file without any other mod installed. Cloth Config only adds an in-game menu for changing those settings, which is more convenient but optional.
Does Kiwi still get updates for Forge
Forge builds stop at Minecraft 1.20.1 while Fabric, Quilt and NeoForge builds keep going through 26.1.2, so anyone on a newer Forge setup would need to switch loaders for a current build.
