Macaw's Bridges is a Minecraft Java mod from sketch_macaw that adds a large range of bridges, bridge stairs and piers for building. It runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and it loads on both sides, so it works in singleplayer and on multiplayer servers.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.18.2 to 26.3. The newest build requires Fabric API.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.12.2 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.4 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
What it adds
The mod adds bridges, bridge stairs and piers.
The 3.0.0 update reworked the models and heavily optimised the mod, along with quality of life changes and bug fixes. Related pages on this site include Macaw's Furniture and Macaw's Doors.
Building tips
- An end piece for a bridge wider than 2 blocks needs pliers. Craft them, then right click the bridge with them.
Installation
Pick the file that matches your loader and your Minecraft release, then drop the mod file into the mods folder of your game directory. Launch with the matching loader profile. The Java mod install guide walks through each step, and the Fabric guide or the Forge and NeoForge guide covers the loader itself. On a dedicated server, install the same file there as well.
The trade-off is scope, since the mod covers bridges, bridge stairs and piers. The mod is Java only, and Bedrock cannot load it.
Questions about Macaw's Bridges.
4 questions
How do I make an end piece for a wide bridge?
Craft pliers, then right click the bridge with them. This is how you add an end piece to a bridge wider than 2 blocks. The mod's own description gives this as the fix for that problem.
Why do my old bridges look broken after updating?
Bridges and stairs placed before the 3.0.0 update look odd until they get a block update. Place any block above or next to them, or break and replace them. Back up your world first.
Can I use Macaw's Bridges in a modpack?
Yes. The creator allows modpack use if you credit the mod and reference its CurseForge page. The source repository is marked All Rights Reserved, so that permission is the one to follow rather than assuming wider reuse.
Does Macaw's Bridges work on Bedrock?
No. It is a Java mod that needs Fabric, Forge or NeoForge, and Bedrock cannot load mods of that kind. Java players install it through their loader's mods folder.
