YUNG's Better Desert Temples replaces Minecraft's small vanilla desert pyramid with a much larger structure that hides a full underground dungeon below the sand. Behind the familiar four-pillar facade you now explore branching corridors, redstone traps, puzzle rooms, and a deeper loot chamber. It runs on the server side for Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge across 1.19 through 1.21, and requires YUNG's API.

What changes in the desert temple

The classic desert temple keeps its recognizable entrance so it still reads as a pyramid on the horizon, but the space inside and beneath it is rebuilt from scratch. Instead of a single hidden pit with four chests, you descend through a themed dungeon with new rooms, hazards, and reward tiers.

  • A larger, more detailed pyramid exterior built around the vanilla silhouette.
  • A multi-room underground dungeon with corridors and dead ends to explore.
  • Redstone traps and hidden mechanisms that guard the deeper areas.
  • Expanded loot placement, so exploring further is worth the risk.
  • New decorative blocks and detailing that fit the desert theme.

How to install YUNG's Better Desert Temples

  1. 1.Install your loader of choice: Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge for your Minecraft version.
  2. 2.Download YUNG's API for the same loader and version from its project page.
  3. 3.Download YUNG's Better Desert Temples from the linked Modrinth page.
  4. 4.Place both JAR files in the mods folder of the game instance or the server.
  5. 5.Launch the game or start the server, then explore a fresh desert to find the new temples.

Compatibility and side notes

  • Requires YUNG's API for its structure and configuration framework.
  • Runs server-side, so on multiplayer only the server needs the mod installed.
  • Pairs with the rest of the YUNG's structure series for a fuller world overhaul.
  • Configurable, so structure frequency and features can be tuned in the config.

Questions about YUNG's Better Desert Temples.

5 questions

How do I install YUNG's Better Desert Temples?

Install Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge for your Minecraft version, then add both YUNG's API and YUNG's Better Desert Temples to the mods folder. On a server, only the server needs the files. Once loaded, travel to a desert biome that has not generated yet to find the rebuilt temples.

Does YUNG's Better Desert Temples need YUNG's API?

Yes. YUNG's API is a required dependency that provides the structure and configuration framework the mod relies on. Install the matching loader and version of YUNG's API alongside it, or the game will fail to load the mod.

Does it work on Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge?

Yes. The mod ships builds for Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge across Minecraft 1.19 through 1.21. Match the loader and version of both YUNG's Better Desert Temples and YUNG's API to your installation so the dependency resolves correctly.

Will it change desert temples in my existing world?

No. The new temples only generate in desert chunks created after the mod is added. Deserts you have already visited keep their original vanilla temples. To see the redesign, explore unexplored desert biomes or start a new world.

Is YUNG's Better Desert Temples client-side or server-side?

It runs server-side. In singleplayer that is handled automatically, and on a multiplayer server only the server needs the mod. Clients do not need to install it separately to see and explore the generated structures.
