QualityArmory is a gun plugin for Bukkit, Paper, Purpur and Spigot servers, pitched by its author as similar to CrackShot. It adds over 80 weapons and 7 ammo types without replacing any existing item. It runs on the server only, so players join with nothing installed.

Server software and versions

  • Bukkit, Paper, Purpur and Spigot: Minecraft 1.8 to 26.2. The newest build needs no dependencies.

What it adds

  • A built-in resource pack distributor, so players see the guns without you editing your own pack. It is sent on a /qa command or when a player uses a custom item, and can be set to send on join.
  • A built-in shop and crafting table, plus optional weapon durability (EnableWeaponDurability in config.yml).
  • An API that lets other plugins add guns, and CrackShot conversion: drop CrackShot weapon configs into the /newguns/ directory and reload.
  • Attachments, custom armor with bullet protection, and Citizens NPC support, according to the README.

Setup and commands

Place the plugin file in the plugins folder and restart, as described in how to install plugins on a Paper or Spigot server. Everything is configurable, and the wiki lists every option. To edit a default gun, set allowUserModifications to true first, or updates will overwrite your changes.

  • /QA give hands out an item and needs qualityarmory.give.
  • /QA craft opens crafting and needs qualityarmory.craft.
  • /QA shop opens the gun shops and needs qualityarmory.shop.
  • /QA reload reloads all plugin values.

Optional integrations

Nothing below is required. ProtocolLib smooths player yaw for recoil. LightAPI adds muzzle flashes, Vault powers the shop, and Parties disables friendly fire. ViaVersion lets players on different releases see the same models.

The trade-off is old-release support. Only 15 guns exist on 1.8, because 1.8 allows one model per item. The author answers bug reports on the GitHub page and Discussions tab, not in reviews.

Questions about QualityArmory.

5 questions

How do I install QualityArmory?

Put the plugin file in the plugins folder of a Bukkit, Paper, Purpur or Spigot server and restart it. Players install nothing. By default the resource pack is sent when they use a /qa command or interact with a custom item.

Does QualityArmory need ProtocolLib or Vault?

No. ProtocolLib, Vault, LightAPI, Parties and ViaVersion are all optional soft dependencies. ProtocolLib handles smooth recoil, Vault powers the weapon shop, LightAPI adds muzzle flashes, and Parties disables friendly fire.

Why do guns not damage players after teleporting?

EssentialsX gives players a short invulnerability window after teleporting, and it also blocks damage from gunfire. Setting teleport_vulnerability from 4 to 0 in the EssentialsX config removes the conflict.

Can I convert CrackShot weapons to QualityArmory?

Yes. Drop your CrackShot weapon configs into the /newguns/ directory and reload the plugin. QualityArmory converts them, and every CrackShot weapon then gets a matching YAML file.

Does QualityArmory work on 1.8?

Partially. Because 1.8 handles textures differently, only 15 guns are available there. With ViaVersion, players on 1.9 and newer still see the full set of guns by default, while 1.8 players get a limited selection.
