SMP Basics is a resource pack for Java that strips a PvP fight down to what matters. CapTommy bundles shield, fire, particle, water and item-size tweaks into one pack, aimed at survival multiplayer but usable in other combat modes. It loads on the player's own machine only.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.21 to 26.3.

  • Wind charge and mace particles removed.
  • Clear water.
  • Small items.

Questions about SMP Basics.

4 questions

How do I install SMP Basics?

Place the downloaded .zip in your resourcepacks folder, which you can reach through Options, Resource Packs, Open Pack Folder. Then move SMP Basics to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen. Keep the file zipped.

Is SMP Basics available for Bedrock?

No. SMP Basics is published on Modrinth for Java only, and Bedrock uses a different pack format. Bedrock players need a separate pack built for that format, since this one will not load there.

Does the SMP host need to install SMP Basics?

No. The pack works on your own machine and is not supported on the host's side. Each player who wants the lower shield, lower fire and reduced particles adds it to their own resourcepacks folder.

What does SMP Basics include?

It includes low shield, low fire, reduced particles, removed wind charge and mace particles, clear water and small items. All six changes come together in the one pack.
