360W is a 360W shader pack by xsoras that recreates the look of stabilized drone footage. It runs on Iris and OptiFine, works on the player's side only, and is built as a light overlay rather than a full lighting replacement. The tagline says it all: the world from a drifting aerial camera.
Shader loaders and versions
- Iris and OptiFine: Minecraft 1.7.10 to 26.3.
What the camera effects do
The pack does not touch Minecraft's lighting. It uses one basic GBuffer pass and a single composite pass, then layers camera behaviour over the finished image. Depth information drives the haze, so distant terrain fades without any volumetric rendering.
- Drone motion. Procedural micro-movements imitate motor vibration, wind drift and occasional gusts, with small tilts and offsets.
- Wide-angle distortion. A subtle barrel curve bends straight lines near the edges outward.
- Chromatic aberration. RGB separation appears mostly at the outer screen regions.
- Altitude haze. Far geometry blends into a cool atmospheric tint, giving a faint horizon washout.
- Highlight compression. Bright areas are softened to reduce clipping.
- Vignette and grain. An aspect-ratio-aware vignette and time-varying sensor noise finish the frame.
Installation
Install Iris on Fabric or NeoForge, or use OptiFine. Put the shader's .zip in the shaderpacks folder, then pick it in the loader's shader menu (Video Settings > Shader Packs for Iris). The shader install guide covers each step. Bedrock cannot run Iris or OptiFine, so this pack is Java only.
Trade-offs
The pack is written in GLSL 1.20 and needs depth texture access for its haze. It is intentionally minimal. There are no custom shadows, global illumination, PBR, reflections, volumetric clouds or deferred lighting, so anyone after a full visual overhaul should look elsewhere. The constant camera sway is the point, and it will not suit every player.
Questions about 360W.
3 questions
How do I install 360W?
Install Iris or OptiFine, place the 360W .zip in the shaderpacks folder, then open the shader menu and select it. With Iris, that menu is under Video Settings > Shader Packs. The pack needs no other mods or libraries.
Does 360W work with both Iris and OptiFine?
Yes. The pack lists builds for both loaders, and neither requires an extra dependency. It was designed for the OptiFine shader pipeline, and Iris runs it as well. Bedrock cannot use either loader.
Is 360W light on hardware?
It is built to be. The pack uses a single composite pass and depth-aware effects instead of shadows, reflections or volumetric lighting. Modrinth tags it as potato-tier, though results still depend on your own hardware.
