What EclipseLite works with.
| Platform | Java Edition |
|---|---|
| Loaders | Iris, OptiFine |
| Minecraft versions | 1.19, 1.19.4, 1.20.6, 1.21.11, 26.1.2, 26.2 |
EclipseLite is a lightweight shader pack for Java that keeps the vanilla look and adds a gentle lift. It runs on Iris and OptiFine and is tagged potato and low for performance. It applies on the player's side only and is unsupported on dedicated hosts.
Shader loaders and versions
- Iris: Minecraft 1.19 to 26.2. Some builds for 1.19 to 1.21.11 require Iris Shaders.
- OptiFine: Minecraft 1.19 to 26.2.
What it changes
GamesofDev made EclipseLite for the lowest-end PCs and laptops, the ones that struggle even with Sildur's or Mellow Shaders. Water keeps the default vanilla style but turns transparent and glowing, and clouds come out cleaner and whiter. The listed categories are atmosphere, cartoon, fantasy and colored lighting.
- No waving effects
- No bloom, motion blur or depth of field
- Transparent, softly glowing water in the stock style
- Cleaner, whiter clouds
Installation
Install a shader loader first. Iris Shaders is the route on Fabric or NeoForge, and some of the pack files for the older range require it. The shader install guide covers the folder layout in more detail.
- 1.Install Iris or OptiFine.
- 2.Get the .zip from the Modrinth page.
- 3.Put the .zip in the shaderpacks folder.
- 4.In Iris, open Video Settings, then Shader Packs, and select EclipseLite.
Trade-offs
The restraint is the whole point. If you want bloom, depth of field, waving foliage or rich lighting, this is the wrong pack. Bug reports go through the creators' Discord.

Questions about EclipseLite.
4 questions
Does EclipseLite work with Iris and OptiFine?
Yes. The pack lists files for both loaders, covering the same range of releases. On Iris, some files for the older range also need the Iris Shaders mod installed, while the newest files for both loaders require nothing else.
Is EclipseLite good for low-end PCs?
That is its purpose. The creator targets the lowest-end PCs and laptops, and Modrinth tags it potato and low. It avoids bloom, motion blur, depth of field and waving effects to keep frame rates high, though results still depend on your hardware.
Who makes EclipseLite and where do I report bugs?
GamesofDev owns the Modrinth project, and GlacierDevelopment is listed as a developer on the team. Bug reports go through the creators' Discord, under the bug category. The pack is in beta, so minor bugs may be present. The creators also run a wiki at glacierdevelopment.pages.dev.
How do I install EclipseLite?
Install Iris or OptiFine, get the .zip from Modrinth, and place it in the shaderpacks folder. Then open Video Settings, choose Shader Packs in Iris, and select EclipseLite from the list.
