What Escheridia works with.
| Platform | Java Edition |
|---|---|
| Loaders | Iris |
| Minecraft versions | 1.20, 1.20.6, 1.21.11 |
Escheridia is a semi-realistic shader pack by QuirkyPlague that nudges the vanilla look toward a stylized fantasy mood. It runs on Iris for Java and is needed on the client only. Mac is not supported.
Shader loaders and versions
- Iris: Minecraft 1.20 to 1.21.11. Some builds for 1.21 to 1.21.11 require Iris Shaders; some builds for 1.20 to 1.21.8 require Sodium and Iris Shaders.
Effects and what it adds
The aim is natural lighting without abandoning the blocky style. Light and atmosphere carry most of the work, and the pack describes itself as midweight with a focus on memorable moments.
- Realtime shadow maps and subsurface scattering
- Custom sky model with atmospheric border fog
- Advanced volumetric lighting and fully volumetric clouds in two styles
- Custom water lighting and waves
- Screen-space reflections with roughness support
- Bloom and custom weather effects
- LabPBR resource pack support
Most of the preview screenshots use the Patrix resource pack, so expect plainer results with default textures.
Installation
- 1.Install Iris Shaders for your loader, plus Sodium if the build you pick lists it.
- 2.Place the pack's .zip in your shaderpacks folder.
- 3.Open Video Settings, then Shader Packs, and select Escheridia.
If the pack does not appear or shows errors, the shader troubleshooting guide covers the usual causes.
Trade-offs
Questions about Escheridia.
3 questions
Does Escheridia work on Mac?
No. The creator states that Mac is not supported and that Iris is required. The pack is for Java only, so Bedrock cannot run it either, because Iris is a Java mod.
How do I install Escheridia?
Install Iris, drop the pack's .zip into your shaderpacks folder, then choose Escheridia under Video Settings, Shader Packs. Some older builds for 1.20 to 1.21.8 also want Sodium alongside Iris.
Does Escheridia support LabPBR resource packs?
Yes. LabPBR compatibility is listed among its features, and it pairs with screen-space reflections that support roughness. Most of the creator's screenshots use the Patrix resource pack.
