TrueLight FX shaders add realistic lighting, shadows and atmospheric effects to Minecraft Java while keeping a vanilla-like look. The pack runs on Iris and OptiFine and does not work on Bedrock. It is based on the open-source Prismarine Shader, with credit to Septonious.

How to install TrueLight FX

How do I install TrueLight FX?
Install Iris on Fabric or NeoForge, or use OptiFine. Put the shader pack .zip into the shaderpacks folder, then open Video Settings, Shader Packs, and pick TrueLight FX. Iris and OptiFine are Java Edition mods, so this setup works on Java only and Bedrock cannot run either loader.
Should I use Iris or OptiFine with TrueLight FX?
Use Iris. The creator reports that some features are very buggy on OptiFine but work fine on Iris. Both loaders are listed for the pack, so OptiFine can still load it, but expect rougher results. The creator also advises using only game releases where Iris and Sodium still get updates.
Does TrueLight FX work on Bedrock?
No. TrueLight FX is a Java Edition shader pack, and it needs Iris or OptiFine, which are Java mods. Bedrock Edition cannot run either loader, and it uses a different format for visual packs, so this pack will not load there.
