Beyond's Java PvP is a Bedrock addon that brings the Java weapon attack speed and combat system into Bedrock Edition in a clean, simple package. It is a .mcaddon file with a behavior pack and a resource pack, made by Beyond64. Java Edition cannot load it.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.21.132 to 26.10. The newest build requires UI Stacker; builds for 1.21.132 need no dependencies.

What it adds

  • Java attack speed. Each weapon has its own cooldown, and spamming swings before it recharges deals reduced damage.
  • Java rest animation. The cooldown after a swing is shown the way Java shows it.
  • Enchantment and effect support. Sharpness, Bane of Arthropods and Smite apply per weapon, and Strength and Weakness change damage as they do in Java.
  • Affected weapons. Swords and axes from wood to netherite (including copper), plus the mace and trident.
  • Quick switch. Swap mainhand and offhand with Double Sneak, Sneak and Interact, or both.
  • Golden apple changes. Eating several no longer stacks absorption hearts, and an apple in the offhand can be eaten by interacting with a sword or axe.
  • Java saturation. A saturation display like the one in AppleSkin, with saturation healing a heart every half second.
  • Offhand blocks. Planks, stone, cobblestone, leaves, ice and TNT can sit in the offhand and be placed while a weapon is in the mainhand, loaded through quick switch.

How to install Beyond's Java PvP

  1. 1.Open the .mcaddon file with Minecraft Bedrock so it imports. The add-on install guide covers each platform.
  2. 2.Switch on both the behavior pack and the resource pack in the world settings.
  3. 3.Place them below every other addon in the pack list. It works otherwise, but this order is recommended.
  4. 4.Run /bjp:config to adjust settings. Advanced options need the bey:bjp_admin or bey:bjpvp_owner tag.

Works with Hoplite Weapons

The page names Hoplite Weapons as a compatible addon, a remake of SpeedSilver Weapons built around weapons from the Hoplite server. Pairing them suits multiplayer and PvP worlds. The trade-off is that Beyond's Java PvP needs UI Stacker to run.

Questions about Beyond's Java PvP.

3 questions

How do I change the settings in Beyond's Java PvP?

Run the /bjp:config command in the world to change the addon's settings to your liking. Advanced settings are locked behind the bey:bjp_admin or bey:bjpvp_owner tag, so give yourself one of those first. Quick switch can be set to Double Sneak, Sneak and Interact, or both.

Which weapons does Beyond's Java PvP affect?

Swords and axes in every tier from wood to netherite, including copper, plus the mace and the trident. Each gets its own Java-style attack speed and cooldown, and enchantments like Sharpness, Bane of Arthropods and Smite apply to the matching weapons.

Can I use Beyond's Java PvP with other addons?

Yes. Hoplite Weapons is named as a compatible addon. Placing this addon's behavior pack and resource pack below all the others in the pack list is recommended, though it works otherwise. For any other addon that needs compatibility, the creator takes requests on Discord.
