Chikawa Pets is a Bedrock addon that turns Usagi, Chiikawa, Hachiware, Kurumanju, Momonga and other Chiikawa characters into tamable pets. It is an authorized Bedrock port of Dwinovo's Popular Biology / Chiikawa Java mod, packaged as an .mcaddon by weizhijs. It runs on Bedrock only, and the latest release is v1.2.

What it adds
Each creature is tamed with a specific item. Hachiware takes a cornflower, Chikawa a white tulip. A later update also lets any cooked food, such as bread or cooked beef, do the job. Tamed pets follow you, sit or stand on command, and join fights. The pixel models were made in Blockbench by Dwinovo, and every creature has its own sounds.
Jobs and combat
- Farmer, with a hoe and vanilla seeds in its backpack, sows seeds and harvests mature crops.
- Swordman, with a sword, attacks hostile mobs automatically. Creepers are excluded.
- Archer, with a bow, shoots hostile mobs from range. Creepers are excluded too.
Pets also carry unique abilities. Usagi sets enemies on fire, while Hachiware adds knockback. Each pet has its own weapon, equipped with Shift + right-click, such as Hachiware's Hunting Stick for knockback or Usagi's Hunting Stick for fire damage and an explosion.
What v1.2 changed
- The Ulayaha effect, gained by eating a glow berry. Feed it to tamed pets and they glow.
- A config tool for optional dynamic light and explosion intensity.
- Language support for English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Português, Italiano and Русский.
Installation
Get the .mcaddon file from CurseForge and open it with Bedrock, and it imports itself. Then switch on the behavior and resource packs in the settings of each world where you want the pets. Our guide on how to install add-ons on Bedrock covers the steps on Windows and on phones.

How do I tame Hachiware and Chikawa?
Hachiware is tamed with a cornflower and Chikawa with a white tulip. A later update also allows any cooked food, such as bread or cooked beef, to tame the creatures. Once tamed, a pet follows you and can be told to sit or stand.
What jobs can the pets do?
Pets can work as a farmer, swordman or archer. A farmer needs a hoe and vanilla seeds in its backpack, a swordman a sword, and an archer a bow. Swordmen and archers attack hostile mobs automatically, but they skip creepers.
Does Chikawa Pets work on Java?
No. It is a Bedrock add-on and Java cannot load it. The characters come from a Java mod by Dwinovo, but this port by weizhijs is built only for Bedrock and ships as an .mcaddon file.
