Food Expansion is a food expansion addon for Bedrock by Loyallay. It adds more than 150 new foods, plus berry bushes, crops and plants, to give survival farming and cooking more variety. It arrives as a single .mcaddon file, needs no experimental toggles, and runs on Realms and servers.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 26.30 to 26.40.
What it adds
Every recipe trades off hunger restoration against saturation. Some foods are eaten quickly, some saturate better, and some are simply alternatives to vanilla staples.
- 9 berry bushes found by biome. Each berry restores 3 hunger points and is eaten twice as fast as normal food. Ghostberries from the Pale Garden cause 10 seconds of nausea.
- 23 crops and 18 plants. Vegetables restore 2 hunger points, and fruit from trees restores 4.
- Base items such as the Steel Bowl for stews, soups and rice dishes (the bowl comes back after eating), the Empty Jar for jelly, plus salt, butter, rice and ramen noodles.
- Turkeys that drop feathers and eggs, which work in place of the chicken versions in recipes. Pies and turkey can be placed as blocks.
- A guidebook crafted from one book and one blue dye, with recipes, nutrition and saturation values, and biome locations. One is handed over the first time you enter a world.
Installation
Follow the steps below, or read the general guide on installing add-ons on Bedrock if this is your first pack.
- 1.Get the .mcaddon file from the CurseForge page.
- 2.Open the file on your device so Bedrock imports it.
- 3.Switch on the behavior pack and the resource pack in the world's settings.
- 4.Enter the world and read the guidebook you receive.
Compatibility and trade-offs
The addon makes no player.json changes, so it sits alongside other packs. It is described as working well with Farmer's Delight and Better on Bedrock. If something fails to load, see fixing add-ons that do not work.

How do I install Food Expansion on Bedrock?
Get the .mcaddon file from the CurseForge page and open it on your device so Bedrock imports it. Then create or edit a world and turn on both the behavior pack and the resource pack in the world settings. The guidebook is given when you first enter the world.
Does Food Expansion work on Realms?
Yes. The addon is described as working on Realms and on servers. It needs no experimental toggles and no other mods or packs to run. As with any addon, the behavior pack and resource pack are switched on per world in the world's settings under Behavior Packs and Resource Packs.
Does Food Expansion need experimental toggles?
No. Experiments are not required, and no other mods or packs are needed for it to work. It also makes no player.json changes, so it combines well with other addons and keeps achievements available.
Does Food Expansion work with other food addons?
It is described as working well by itself and alongside other packs, with Farmer's Delight and Better on Bedrock named as examples. As with any addon combination, load order and overlapping recipes are worth checking in a test world first.
