Just Cosmetics is a Bedrock addon by Just_Ducke that adds more than 500 cosmetic items to your world, from hats to full outfits. It runs on Bedrock only, since Java cannot load addons. It does not disable achievements.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 26.10.

What it adds

Cosmetics are not just skins. They carry Diamond or Netherite equivalent armor protection and the same enchantment level as Netherite, so you keep your defence while dressing up. Durability depends on rarity and slot.

  • Dyeable pieces, mixed in a cauldron for up to three colors and washed off in water.
  • Animated textures, animations, particles (off by default, toggled by crouching while putting the piece on) and hats that stare back.
  • Invisible cosmetics that hide your player skin.
  • Variants, unlocked by using a cosmetic on the Just Tailored Mannequin.
  • A Wardrobe that displays cosmetics and armor from vanilla or other addons, and a Hat Display for hats and other helmet-slot items, crafted from an armor stand.

How you collect them

Zombies, skeletons, piglins and several other mobs have a 5% chance to spawn wearing a hat, and killing them drops it at low durability. Cosmetic bags have a 1% chance to drop from any mob, including mobs from other addons, and need no player damage, so a passive mob farm works. Bags come in Common, Uncommon, Rare and Epic. Legendary bags drop from mobs with 80 health or more, but not from the Wither.

Unwanted duplicates can be recycled into scraps, which upgrade to higher tiers or craft more bags. Fabric remnants from scrapping are used to craft and customize clothes. Drop rates can be changed in the addon book.

Installation

The file is a .mcaddon, which imports when you open it with Minecraft. Then switch the packs on per world under Behavior Packs and Resource Packs. No dependency packs or experimental toggles are listed. The install guide for Bedrock addons covers the steps on each device.

The trade-off is scope. Some mobs, such as Endermen, Villagers and Wandering Traders, only show their hats with certain texture packs, though they still drop hats with vanilla textures.

Questions about Just Cosmetics.

3 questions

Does Just Cosmetics disable achievements?

No. The addon page states that it does not disable achievements, so you can keep earning them in a world that uses it. Cosmetics also carry Diamond or Netherite equivalent protection, so wearing them does not cost you defence.

How do I get cosmetics in Just Cosmetics?

Kill mobs that spawn wearing hats, which happens 5% of the time for mobs like zombies and skeletons. You can also collect cosmetic bags, which drop from any mob at a 1% chance, and open them for a cosmetic of the matching rarity.

How do I turn on cosmetic particles?

Particles are off by default. Crouch while putting the cosmetic on to enable them, and do the same to disable them. The setting applies to each individual cosmetic, not to the player, and particles do not emit on an armor stand.
