MC Ark Primitive is a Bedrock addon from McArk that turns survival into an Ark-style loop of taming dinosaurs, levelling up and defending a base. It targets Bedrock Edition only and ships as a .mcaddon file. A full rework landed on 3/1/2026, moving the addon from functions to scripting.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.21.124 to 26.10.

What it adds

Progression is the core. You gain levels by killing creatures and breaking blocks, then raise stamina, speed, strength and health. A stamina bar drains as you run, hit creatures or break blocks. Tribes let you add friends and chat privately, and the tribe menu shows each member's level.

  • Hunter points are awarded for each taming, scaled by species, and feed top player and top tribe rankings. Dying costs 15% of them.
  • Simple creatures act like vanilla wolves with special abilities and taming, without feeding, levels or stamina.
  • Advanced creatures add levels, stamina and feeding. Health, damage, torpor and speed are randomly distributed on spawn and can be raised after taming.
  • Text is translated into more than 10 languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese and Korean.

Base building and defense

Five block types (straw, wood, adobe, stone and iron) come with stairs, slabs and doors. A newly placed block can be broken within 10 seconds if you misplaced it. After that each type needs a matching axe tier (straw falls to a wooden axe or better), and iron blocks only fall to explosives. Doors must be claimed, either with a code or by assigning them to yourself.

Turrets have 100 hit points, hit hard, take ammunition and repair with iron. The totem requires a tribe, eliminates explosives and creepers, and inflicts negative effects on enemy players. Its energy is refilled with emeralds. Bear traps catch creatures.

Installation

  1. 1.Open the .mcaddon file with Minecraft so it imports.
  2. 2.Create or edit a world and switch on the addon's behavior and resource packs in the world settings.
  3. 3.Load the world and check the new menus and creatures.

If the import fails, the guide on installing add-ons on Bedrock covers the usual causes.

Questions about MC Ark Primitive.

4 questions

How do I install MC Ark Primitive on Bedrock?

Open the .mcaddon file with Minecraft, and it imports automatically (double-click on Windows, open with Minecraft on phones and tablets). Then create or edit a world and switch on the addon's behavior and resource packs in the world settings before loading in.

Does MC Ark Primitive work on Java Edition?

No. It is a Bedrock Edition addon, and Java Edition cannot load .mcaddon packs. Java players need a separate mod or data pack made for Java, since the two editions use different formats.

What are hunter points in MC Ark Primitive?

Hunter points are awarded when you tame a creature, with the amount depending on the species. They count toward the top players and top tribes rankings. Dying costs you 15% of your points, and inside a tribe you only earn points once you have joined it.

What is the difference between simple and advanced creatures?

Simple creatures behave like vanilla wolves with special abilities and taming, but have no feeding, levels or stamina. Advanced creatures have levels, stamina, stats and a feeding system. Their health, damage, torpor and speed are randomly distributed on spawn and can be raised after taming.
