Ultimate Drills is a Bedrock addon from Iced_Fox_Studios that replaces pickaxe grinding with a ladder of drills. It adds 11 tiers, from a starter Iron Drill to the Multi-Drill, each tuned down so progression stays a survival grind rather than an instant tunnel. It is Bedrock only.

What it adds
- Heating and cooling. Every drill builds heat as you work and needs to cool, so long runs mean pacing yourself.
- Four modes: Precision, Standard, Excavation and Tunnel. Shift + Right Click cycles through them.
- A drops toggle. Double-sneak or type !!drops to switch it; it starts off for performance.
- Stats on demand. !drillstats shows ratings, heat and speed.
- Entity safety. You get a warning if you try to use a drill as a weapon.
Tiers have their own traits: Copper cools quicker, Gold is fast but fragile, Amethyst adds precision, Emerald gives lucky drops, Skulk is stealthy and Netherite is fireproof. The Prismarine Drill gives Conduit Power underwater. The Chorus Drill teleports you forward 3 to 5 blocks and cools faster in the End. Prismarine needs 3 Prismarine Crystals, 2 Redstone Blocks and a Conduit. Chorus needs 3 Popped Chorus Fruit, 2 Redstone Blocks and an End Rod.
Installing and experimental requirements
Import them by opening the files with Minecraft, then enable both in the world's settings. Our Bedrock add-on install guide covers the steps.
Trade-offs
The nerfed balance is the point, and also the limit. If you want fast, unlimited digging, these drills will feel restrained. For vein-style mining instead, see Edds' VeinCapitator. If packs fail to load, try fixing add-ons that do not work.

Does Ultimate Drills need experimental toggles?
Yes. The creator states the addon needs Beta APIs activated, so enable that before playing. Separately, the behavior and resource packs are switched on per world, under Behavior Packs and Resource Packs in the world's settings, after you import the files by opening them with Minecraft.
How do I change drill modes?
Hold Shift and Right Click with a drill to cycle through Precision, Standard, Excavation and Tunnel. Double-sneak toggles item drops, or you can type !!drops. Drops start switched off to keep performance smooth. Typing !drillstats shows the drill's ratings, heat and speed.
What is the strongest drill in Ultimate Drills?
The Multi-Drill is the top tier, described as the ultimate drill. Netherite is the fireproof endgame step below it, and Prismarine and Chorus are special drills with underwater and teleport abilities. All are balanced so the progression curve stays gradual rather than overpowered from the start.
