TNT Addon is a Bedrock addon that gives Bedrock and mobile players the large destructive TNT blocks long found in Java Edition mods. It adds five TNT blocks plus two bonus ones, each blasting a true spherical crater instead of just raising the vanilla explosion power. It ships as a .mcaddon file, built for creative play.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.21.90 to 26.50.
What it adds
Every TNT is a separate block with a fixed crater radius. The cost is render time, which climbs steeply with size. The times below are the creator's own and will vary on your device.
- TNT #1 and #2 clear a radius of 20 and 40 blocks, rendering in 0 and 1 seconds.
- TNT #3 and #4 clear 80 and 160 blocks, taking 3 and 14 seconds.
- TNT #5 clears 320 blocks and takes 1 minute 23 seconds.
- Bonus TNT #6 clears 640 blocks and takes 6 minutes 22 seconds.
- Bonus TNT #7 clears 1280 blocks and takes 27 minutes 10 seconds.
The two bonus TNTs have no textures of their own and come in a separate file. The five-TNT file is the one for lower-end and mobile devices because of memory limits. There are no crafting recipes. They also behave differently from vanilla TNT. Placing a block on a face makes no sound, a burned or blasted TNT disappears instead of igniting, and the ignition mechanics differ slightly.
How to install TNT Addon
Open the .mcaddon file with Bedrock so it imports, then enable the behavior and resource packs in your world's settings. The install guide for Bedrock add-ons covers each platform step by step.
Limits to know before igniting
- Set render distance to match the crater, and simulation distance to the maximum. Otherwise rendering hangs until you move back within range.
- All ticking areas are removed after an explosion, so note their coordinates and re-add them.
- Ignite one TNT at a time. Several at once disrupt the ticking area process and slow rendering sharply.
- Expect rendering glitches, a few stray blocks in the TNT #7 crater, and flowing water or lava left behind.
A separate file adds ten ticking areas covering 256x256 for old world types. Larger old worlds may still have problems. The creator plans a custom-radius TNT, a launcher and a configurable block list.

Questions about TNT Addon.
4 questions
Does TNT Addon need experimental toggles?
Yes. Beta APIs must be turned on in the Experiments tab of the world settings, and the addon will not work without them. No other experimental toggle is named for this addon.
Can I craft the TNT blocks in survival?
No. The addon is designed for creative purposes only, so none of the TNT blocks have crafting recipes.
Which TNT Addon file should I use on a phone?
Use the file with the five TNTs on lower-end and mobile devices, because of memory limits. The two bonus TNTs are published separately, and the creator advises a high-end device when igniting them because of their massive size.
Why does the explosion take so long to finish?
The render time grows with the radius. TNT #1 finishes instantly, while TNT #7 can take about 27 minutes on the creator's device. Match your render distance to the crater size to avoid stalls.
