The Minecraft Java and Bedrock bundle is one PC purchase that covers both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition for Windows, plus the Minecraft Launcher. Java Edition also runs on Mac and Linux. Java worlds do not open in Bedrock.
What the Java and Bedrock bundle is
On its Xbox store page, the bundle is listed as Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC. The games it lists are the Minecraft Launcher, Minecraft for Windows (the Bedrock Edition on PC) and Minecraft: Java Edition. This article reads that store page, the Ultimate Collection listing, as it stood on 14 October 2026. We did not buy it, install it or play it.
The store sells it in three steps. The base bundle holds the two editions and the launcher. The Deluxe Collection and the Ultimate Collection add Bedrock content on top. Mojang and Microsoft Studios are named as the developers, and Xbox Game Studios as the publisher.
| Tier | Price listed | Extra Bedrock content listed |
|---|---|---|
| Java & Bedrock Edition for PC | No price shown on that page | None listed |
| Deluxe Collection | 218,99 RON | Celebration Food, Plenty of Blocks 2.0, Rescue Dogs Mutts, Nether Portal Wings, Pig Pal Hat, Three Villagers Coat, 700 Minecoins |
| Ultimate Collection | 273,99 RON | Celebration Food, Decocraft, Plenty of Blocks 2.0, Rescue Dogs Mutts, Weapons + Tools Add-On, Exploding Creeper Coat, Jockey Fan Hat, Nether Portal Wings, Pig Pal Hat, Three Villagers Coat, 1000 Minecoins |
The Ultimate Collection page gives a release date of 31 March 2026 and describes its extras as five add-ons, five exclusive Character Creator items and 1000 Minecoins. Prices are for the Romanian store and will differ in other regions.
Who the bundle applies to
It applies to players on a PC who want both editions. The store lists PC as the only platform. Bedrock Edition runs on Windows, and the page tells anyone not on Windows 10 or Windows 11 to get the launcher from minecraft.net/download. Java Edition runs on Windows, Mac and Linux, so a Mac or Linux player gets Java only from this purchase. Our pages on which edition runs on Linux and Mac and the PC system requirements cover the hardware side.
How the two editions relate on one Microsoft account
The store page lists both editions under one product and one launcher, so the purchase is a single listing, not two. It does not describe how the editions are tied to a Microsoft account, so we make no claim beyond that. The page does state one hard limit: worlds and saves from Java Edition are not compatible with Bedrock Edition. Owning both does not merge your worlds. Keep that in mind before you back up your worlds.
The page lists add-ons as Bedrock Edition content, and our page on what add-ons are explains them. Our Java against Bedrock comparison sets out the rest.
What the bundle includes on PC
- Java Edition, which the page says runs on Windows, Mac and Linux and lets you join other players in Java Edition on PC, Mac and Linux.
- Bedrock Edition for Windows, which the page describes as cross-platform play with console, mobile and PC, with online console multiplayer needing a platform subscription sold separately.
- The Minecraft Launcher, listed as free.
- On the higher tiers, Bedrock add-ons, Character Creator items and Minecoins to spend on Marketplace content.
The cross-play line describes what Bedrock Edition does in general. It is not a list of what this PC purchase unlocks on other devices. For who plays with whom, see is Minecraft cross platform.
What the bundle does not cover
- Consoles and mobile. The store lists PC under Play with, and says nothing about console or phone entitlements.
- Realms. The page says you subscribe to Realms Plus or Realms for Java to play with up to 10 friends on a private server.
- Marketplace Pass. The page says it is sold separately, and Realms Plus also gives access to it. See what Marketplace Pass is.
- Minecraft Dungeons, Dungeons II and Legends. These appear on the same page as separate products.
How to check which edition to play
The store page ties cross-play with console and mobile friends, community servers and the Marketplace to Bedrock Edition, and describes Java Edition as the one that runs on PC, Mac and Linux. With the bundle you do not have to choose up front. If you plan to mod, start from what a Minecraft mod is and what it needs.
What we cannot say from the page is whether a price drop, regional price or older bundle differs from this listing. Check the store you buy from.
