Mini Blocks is a Minecraft data pack for Java that adds more than 550 small block models you can collect in survival. Place a block in a stonecutter and cut it into mini blocks. It is required on the server, and the client needs nothing extra.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.20.5 to 26.3.

What it adds

Full blocks yield 8 mini blocks. Slab-sized blocks such as daylight detectors, stonecutters, campfires and sculk sensors yield 4, stairs yield 6, and other non-full blocks yield 1. The pack lists 578 obtainable mini blocks as of its 1.7.0 release for 26.2, covering logs, planks, stone types, ores, concrete, wool, glass, plants and more.

  • Each mini block keeps its name between placing and breaking.
  • Every mini block can be picked back up and stays stackable.
  • All mini blocks have recipe toasts.
  • Each one has a note block sound related to its block, like mob heads.

How to install Mini Blocks

  3. 3.In an existing world, run /reload or restart.

Questions about Mini Blocks.

4 questions

How do I install Mini Blocks?

Put the data pack zip in your world's datapacks folder (saves/<world>/datapacks), or add it from the Data Packs button when creating a world. An existing world picks it up after /reload or a restart. On a server, use the server world's datapacks folder instead.

Does Mini Blocks need any other downloads?

The newest build lists no required dependencies, so the data pack installs on its own in a world's datapacks folder. Mini Blocks: Items Edition is a separate optional pack that lets you place items as mini blocks. It is not needed to cut mini blocks from full blocks in a stonecutter.

Does Mini Blocks work on multiplayer?

Yes, but it must be installed on the server. The client needs nothing extra. Players on that server can then cut blocks in a stonecutter to get mini blocks, as in single player.

How do I get mini blocks in survival?

Place a supported block in a stonecutter and pick a mini block from the output. Full blocks give 8, stairs give 6, slab-sized blocks give 4, and other non-full blocks give 1.
