Create: Astral is a tech-focused Fabric modpack for Minecraft Java 1.18.2 built around the Create mod, with thousands of lines of custom KubeJS recipes threading nearly every included mod into Create's own crafting systems. A structured quest book carries you through five-plus chapters of progression, from a starter base up to automated factories, before sending you off-world to a fully customized Moon, Mars, and Mercury. The CurseForge listing calls it a challenging pack, and it plays that way: this is built for players who already know modded Minecraft, not a first pack.

  • Loader: Fabric only, no Forge or NeoForge build
  • Minecraft version: Java Edition 1.18.2
  • Downloads: over 1.4 million on CurseForge
  • Server pack: yes, plus an official multiplayer server
  • Focus: Tech, Quests, Exploration, and Multiplayer

What's included

The pack's KubeJS scripting rewrites, removes, and adds recipes so most included mods craft through Create's filling, sequenced assembly, and mechanical crafting systems instead of sitting next to Create unconnected. Tinkers' Construct is folded in the same way, with liquid metal alloying through Create's mixing basin and casting recipes, and Tech Reborn supplies a chunk of the later processing chain. The Complementary Reimagined shader preset ships bundled with the pack, and the CurseForge description says the team benchmarked 144 fps at 8 render chunks running it on a GTX 1080 and a Ryzen 5 5600X. Create: Astral builds entirely on the base Create mod's own contraptions rather than sibling projects like Create Big Cannons, so artillery-style builds aren't part of what's here.

Minecraft version and loader

Create: Astral runs on Fabric only, with no Forge or NeoForge build, and has stayed on Minecraft Java 1.18.2 since the pack's earliest 2.0 release. The team ships steady point updates instead of chasing newer Minecraft versions: the current build, v2.1.5b, went up on 23 August 2026, following v2.1.5a in early August and v2.1.5 in July. If you're after modded Minecraft on a newer version, this pack won't get you there; the mod list and the KubeJS integration are built specifically for 1.18.2.

Installing Create: Astral

The pack installs through the CurseForge app, or through any launcher that reads CurseForge modpack codes, such as Prism Launcher. Our guide to installing a Minecraft modpack from CurseForge or Modrinth covers both routes. If you'd rather set up a Fabric profile by hand first, see how to install Fabric on Minecraft Java.

Server pack and multiplayer

CurseForge lists a dedicated Create Astral Server Pack alongside every client release, currently at v2.1.5b, so a group can host the pack on its own dedicated server rather than only playing solo or over LAN. The project's CurseForge listing also points to an official multiplayer server run by the Create: Astral team, reachable through their Discord, for anyone who'd rather join an existing world than host one.

CurseForge doesn't publish an official RAM figure for Create: Astral, but the project description says the team spent months tuning the mod list, including several Fabric performance mods, to keep the pack running on weaker PCs even with shaders enabled. If you're not sure how to raise your allocation past a launcher's default, our guide on how to allocate more RAM to Minecraft walks through it.

Getting started with Create: Astral

Questions about Create: Astral.

5 questions

What is Create: Astral?

It's a tech-focused Fabric modpack for Minecraft Java 1.18.2 built around the Create mod. Custom KubeJS recipes tie most of the included mods into Create's crafting systems, and a structured quest book carries you from a starter base through automated factories and out to a customized Moon, Mars, and Mercury.

Which Minecraft version and loader does Create: Astral use?

Fabric only, with no Forge or NeoForge build, on Minecraft Java Edition 1.18.2. The pack has stayed on that version since its earliest 2.0 release; the team ships point updates instead of moving to newer Minecraft versions. The current build, v2.1.5b, shipped on 23 August 2026.

Is there a server pack for Create: Astral?

Yes. CurseForge lists a dedicated Create Astral Server Pack alongside every client release, so a group can run the pack on its own dedicated server instead of only solo or over LAN. There's also an official multiplayer server run by the Create: Astral team, reachable through their Discord, for players who'd rather join an existing world.

How much RAM does Create: Astral need?

CurseForge doesn't list an official memory recommendation for this pack. The project says it was tuned to run on weaker PCs even with shaders enabled, but as a Create-based pack with a large KubeJS-driven recipe layer, plan to raise your allocation well past a launcher's 1GB default.

Is Create: Astral beginner friendly?

Not really. CurseForge itself describes the pack as challenging. A full quest book guides progression step by step, but the Create-focused crafting chains and the KubeJS-modified recipes assume you already know your way around modded Minecraft and the Create mod specifically.
