Create Prepare to Dye is an automation modpack for Minecraft Java on Forge, and it must be installed on both sides of a multiplayer session. You run a collapsing space company on a depleted planet called Chroma Prime, filling trade contracts with factories you design yourself.
Loaders and versions
- Forge: Minecraft 1.19.2.
The trade loop
You accept trade deals from companies, produce what they ask for, and spend the proceeds on bigger production. Fulfilled deals level up your trade contract, which unlocks harder deals. Mining is off the table because the planet is mostly drained, so every resource comes from a processing line you construct. You play the shell of an automaton that places and breaks blocks at a distance.
What changes
- More than 3000 recipe changes and additions, tuned around the trade loop rather than scattered at random.
- Automation styled by Create, Botania, Quark and Supplementaries, with the pitch of difficult automation and cheap devices.
- No machine tiers. You upgrade processes, not machines, so the millstone and Create's grindstones stay useful side by side, each with its own strengths.
- Items and blocks without a role in the loop are removed, vanilla ones included.
- The item and recipe index doubles as in-game documentation, so you rarely need a wiki.
- Features can be switched on or off through scripts, and you can add recipes with the pack's recipe managers.
Installation
Import the pack with the Modrinth App, or with Prism Launcher or another launcher that reads .mrpack files. It fetches the listed mods and Forge for you. The guide to installing a modpack from CurseForge or Modrinth covers the steps.
Server setup
The Modrinth release points to server/readme.md in the repository for setup instructions. The CurseForge release does not include the server folder, so you fetch it by hand and extract it into a new folder under the modpack folder.

4 questions
How do I install Create Prepare to Dye?
Open the Modrinth page in the Modrinth App, or import the .mrpack file into Prism Launcher or another launcher that reads that format. The launcher downloads the listed mods and the right Forge loader for Minecraft 1.19.2, so no manual mod handling is needed.
Is there a server pack for Create Prepare to Dye?
Yes. For the Modrinth release, follow server/readme.md in the repository. The CurseForge release does not include it, so you fetch the server folder manually and extract it into a new folder under your modpack folder.
Does Create Prepare to Dye work in multiplayer?
Yes. The pack is required on both sides, so players and the host must run it. Modrinth tags it as multiplayer.
Do I need to mine in Create Prepare to Dye?
No. The planet is depleted and the pack states that mining need not apply. You produce resources through processing lines, then use them to fulfil trade deals and level up your contract.
