Enigmatica 6

Enigmatica 6 is a Forge modpack for Java 1.16.5 that mixes tech, magic and exploration around a custom quest line. Worldgen comes from TerraForged and Oh The Biomes You'll Go, backed by plenty of new dungeons, structures and villages.

What's included

The pack leans on automation and exploration in equal measure. Custom worldgen from TerraForged and Oh The Biomes You'll Go is paired with tons of dungeons, structures and new villages, so the map rewards travel as much as base building. Here are the main mod groups.

• Tech: Mekanism, Create, Immersive Engineering, Refined Storage, PneumaticCraft, Thermal Series and RFTools.
• Magic: Botania, Ars Nouveau, Blood Magic, Occultism, Nature's Aura and Astral Sorcery.
• Adventure: Dungeons Plus, DungeonCrawl, YUNG's Better Strongholds and Mineshafts, Towers of the Wild and Lost Trinkets.
• Building: Macaw's Bridges, Roofs, Windows, Doors and Trapdoors, plus Masonry, Simply Lights and Decorative Blocks.

How to install Enigmatica 6

1. 1.Open the CurseForge App and make sure it uses the latest 64-bit Java 8. The general steps are in the guide on installing a modpack from CurseForge.
2. 2.Allocate at least 4GB of RAM to the profile before the first launch.
3. 3.Click the banner on the CurseForge page to view the full modlist and see everything the pack installs.

Trade-offs

Enigmatica 6 is fixed to 1.16.5, so newer mods and features are out of reach. The pack is also large: the creators ask for at least 4GB of RAM and a 64-bit Java 8, and a modpack of this size makes performance a real consideration for anyone hosting friends.

The breadth is the point, with tech, magic, adventure and building mods all in one place, though it means many systems to learn at once. The pack is still maintained, with its newest release, 1.12.0, dating from August 2025.
