Essentially Optimized is a client-side Fabric modpack from Shulkercraft that strips vanilla Minecraft Java down to nothing but performance mods, chasing the highest framerate it can get without touching visuals or content. It ships for Fabric only and stays entirely client-side, skipping anything a server would need to match, so it drops onto any vanilla or otherwise unmodified server without complaint.

What's included
The pack is built almost entirely from rendering and logic fixes rather than new features. Lithium rewrites core game logic for speed, FerriteCore cuts memory use, and Entity Culling and More Culling are both included as optimization mods. ImmediatelyFast, Reese's Sodium Options, and BadOptimizations round out the performance side. Cloth Config API and Mod Menu handle configuration screens for the rest, all sitting on top of Fabric API. Nothing here changes a recipe, adds a biome, or alters gameplay, which is the trade-off: this is a foundation meant to have other mods stacked on it, not a finished experience by itself.
Installing and running it
- 1.Install the Modrinth App, Prism Launcher, or another launcher that reads Modrinth's .mrpack format, following our modpack install guide on a first attempt.

- 3.Launch the profile; the matching Fabric loader release comes in automatically.

What makes Essentially Optimized different from other performance modpacks?
It deliberately excludes quality-of-life, visual, and content mods, keeping only optimization mods. That narrow focus keeps it lightweight and quick to update to new Minecraft Java releases, though players wanting extra features need to add their own mods on top.
Do I need this modpack installed on a server too?
No. Essentially Optimized only changes client-side rendering and logic, so it works against any vanilla or unmodified server without needing a matching install on that server.
