Light Optimized is a lightweight modpack for Minecraft Java that targets one thing, frame rate. TinyNote built it for Fabric and Quilt, with older Forge builds now stopped. The player installs it on the client, and a multiplayer host can run it as well.

Loaders and versions

  • Fabric: Minecraft 1.16.5 to 26.2.
  • Quilt: Minecraft 1.16.5 to 1.21.8.
  • Forge: Minecraft 1.20 to 1.20.2, builds stopped after April 2024.

What it does

The pack bundles performance mods so lower-end machines hold smoother frame rates, and stronger rigs gain headroom too. TinyNote built it to raise performance while maintaining that Minecraft experience.

Nothing locks the pack down. TinyNote states you can add other mods on top if you want more than performance.

How to install Light Optimized

  1. 1.Open the Modrinth page and send the pack to the Modrinth App, or to Prism Launcher or another launcher that reads .mrpack files.
  2. 2.Pick the Fabric or Quilt file that matches the Minecraft release you want to play.
  3. 3.Let the launcher fetch the listed mods and the right loader.
  4. 4.Launch the new profile and join a world.

If you have never imported a pack this way, the guide to installing a modpack from Modrinth walks through it. Fabric users can also check how to install Fabric.

Updates and support

TinyNote commits to keeping the pack current. After a major Minecraft update, a release follows within a few days, even when not every mod has caught up. Help and bug reports go through the Light Optimized Discord.

Questions about Light Optimized.

4 questions

How do I install Light Optimized?

Open the pack on Modrinth and import it into the Modrinth App, or into Prism Launcher or another launcher that reads .mrpack files. The launcher downloads the listed mods and the correct loader for you. Choose the Fabric or Quilt file that matches your Minecraft release, then launch the profile.

Does Light Optimized work on multiplayer?

Yes. Modrinth lists it as required on the client and optional on the server, and it carries a multiplayer category. Players get the performance gain on their own machine without the host having to install the pack.

Which loaders does Light Optimized support?

Fabric and Quilt are the current loaders. A Forge line existed for a short range of older releases, but those builds have stopped, so Fabric is the safest choice for new worlds.

Can I add other mods to Light Optimized?

Yes. TinyNote says you can add other mods to the pack if you wish. The pack is meant to raise performance while keeping the vanilla experience, so extra mods are your own choice and your own responsibility for compatibility.
