Guns and Zombies by CapTommy is a zombie apocalypse modpack on Forge. It pairs large zombie numbers with a long list of guns to fight them. The host and every player need the pack installed.
Loaders and versions
- Forge: Minecraft 1.20.1.
What the pack does
The pitch is blunt. Zombies arrive in force, and the pack supplies plenty of guns to answer them. Villagers fight alongside you, so watch your aim, because they are easy to hit by mistake.
Terrain is altered but keeps the vanilla look, so there are no new biomes to learn. You explore, craft guns and hold your ground. Modrinth tags it adventure, challenging, combat and quests.
How to install Guns and Zombies
- 1.Install the Modrinth App, or Prism Launcher, which reads .mrpack files. The modpack install guide covers both.
- 2.Add the pack from its Modrinth page, or import the .mrpack file.
- 3.Launch the new profile. The launcher fetches the listed mods and the right Forge loader.
- 4.For multiplayer, the host and each player use the same pack.
The trade-offs
This pack has one idea and sticks to it: zombies, guns and combat. Because it is required on both sides, a friend cannot join with plain vanilla.
The listing links no source code, wiki or issue tracker, so the Modrinth page is the only place to read about it. If you are new to the loader, the Forge install guide explains what the launcher sets up for you.
Questions about Guns and Zombies.
2 questions
How do I install Guns and Zombies?
Open the pack on Modrinth and add it through the Modrinth App, or import the .mrpack file in Prism Launcher or another launcher that reads that format. The launcher fetches the listed mods and the Forge loader. Start the new profile once it finishes and the pack is ready to play.
Does Guns and Zombies work on multiplayer?
The pack is listed as required on both sides, so the host and every player joining need it installed, and a vanilla player cannot join a game running it. The listing says nothing further about multiplayer or co-op setups. Villagers fight alongside you, so avoid shooting them.
