Adorn is the adorn mod most players mean when they search for Minecraft furniture: a decoration and storage mod by Juuz for Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt. Forge releases exist for older play but have stopped. It has to be installed on both sides in multiplayer, so the host and every player need the same mod.
It pairs well with a Fabric API setup, and its Fabric and Quilt releases lean on that library. Every dependency split is in the list below.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.16.3 to 26.2. The newest build requires Fabric API; some builds for 1.18.2 to 1.21.8 require Fabric Language Kotlin and Fabric API; some builds for 1.16.3 to 1.19.3 need no dependencies.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.1 to 26.2. The newest build needs no dependencies; builds for 1.20.1 require Kotlin for Forge.
- Quilt: Minecraft 1.19 to 26.2. The newest build requires Fabric API; some builds for 1.19.2 to 1.21.8 require Fabric Language Kotlin and Fabric API; some builds for 1.19 to 1.19.3 need no dependencies.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.16.4 to 1.20.1, builds stopped after December 2023. The newest build requires Kotlin for Forge; some builds for 1.16.4 to 1.19.3 need no dependencies.
What Adorn adds
- Chairs and sofas you can sit on. A sofa doubles as a place for a nap.
- Drawers, a smaller container than a chest, but a fancier piece of furniture.
- Stone torches, made of stone and a better light source than wooden torches.
- Kitchen counters, cupboards and sinks, aimed at kitchen sink modpacks.
- Tables, shelves, fences, chimneys and more decoration blocks.
The set is furniture first.
Support for other mods
Adorn includes block variants for a long list of content mods, among them Biomes O' Plenty and Ecologics. Others on the list are Biome Makeover, BYG, Blockus and Terrestria, and each works only on the loaders it is marked for. Recipe features come through EMI, JEI and Roughly Enough Items. On Fabric and Quilt, LambDynamicLights gives Adorn blocks dynamic lighting and Mod Menu exposes a settings screen.
Installing Adorn
Questions about Adorn.
4 questions
Is Adorn a Fabric or Forge mod?
Adorn runs on Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt, and older Forge releases exist too. Forge releases stopped after December 2023, while the other three loaders still receive updates. Pick the loader that matches your Minecraft release and install the matching file.
Does Adorn work in multiplayer?
Yes, but it must be installed on both sides. The host and every player need the mod, because the furniture blocks exist in the world and in each player's own installation.
What does Adorn add to Minecraft?
It adds furniture and decoration blocks. These include sit-on chairs and sofas, drawers for storage, stone torches, kitchen counters, cupboards and sinks, plus tables, shelves, fences and chimneys.
Does Adorn need Fabric API?
On Fabric and Quilt, the newest release requires Fabric API. NeoForge needs no dependency in its newest release. Older Fabric and Quilt releases may also need Fabric Language Kotlin, so check the dependency list before installing.
