Biomes O' Plenty is a Java mod that expands the Overworld and Nether with more than 50 unique biomes, running on Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge from Minecraft 1.7.10 through 1.21.11. Both the client and server must have the mod installed for it to work in multiplayer. In each new biome you get distinct terrain shapes, custom trees, plants, and in some cases unique blocks and foliage that vanilla Minecraft does not include.

What Biomes O' Plenty Adds

The biome list spans a wide range of climates and environments: dense redwood forests with towering canopies, coniferous forests beside gravel beaches, lavender fields, bayous draped in hanging moss, lush tropics, volcanic plains, ominous woods, and mystic groves. The Nether gets new biome variants including the Erupting Inferno and Visceral Heap. Cave systems gain the Glowing Grotto and Undergrowth biomes. The End also receives additions: End Wilds, End Reef, and End Flats. Each biome ships with matching custom plants, flowers, soils, and decorative blocks so terrain feels distinct rather than a palette swap of a vanilla biome.

  • 50+ Overworld biomes spanning forests, wetlands, deserts, arctic tundra, and magical themes
  • New Nether biomes including Erupting Inferno and Visceral Heap
  • Cave biomes: Glowing Grotto and Undergrowth
  • End biome additions: End Wilds, End Reef, and End Flats
  • Custom trees, flowers, grasses, and plants unique to each biome
  • New soil, rock, and foliage blocks that match each biome's theme

Questions about this entry.

  • How do I install Biomes O' Plenty on Fabric?

Download the Fabric build of Biomes O' Plenty from Modrinth and place it in your mods folder. You also need Fabric API installed. When creating a new world, choose Biomes O' Plenty as the world type in the world creation screen to enable the custom biomes.

  • Does Biomes O' Plenty work on multiplayer servers?

Yes, but both the server and every connecting client must have the mod installed. The server generates the custom biomes, and clients need the mod to load the matching custom blocks and trees correctly.

  • Which Minecraft version does Biomes O' Plenty support?

Biomes O' Plenty has releases from Minecraft 1.7.10 through 1.21.11 and is actively updated. The Modrinth page lists current builds for Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge.

  • Can I add Biomes O' Plenty to an existing world?

Custom biomes only generate in new chunks. Adding the mod to an existing world leaves already-generated areas unchanged; the new biomes appear only in chunks that have not been loaded before.

  • Is Biomes O' Plenty compatible with Terralith?

Compatibility varies by version. Some players run both successfully; others report conflicts with biome distribution. Check the GitHub issue tracker or community wikis for the specific version pair you are using before combining them in a long-term world.
