Artifacts adds over 20 unique wearable items to Minecraft's vanilla loot tables, each granting a distinct passive ability. From a double jump to life-stealing melee strikes, each piece changes how you move through and fight the world. Fabric and NeoForge track the current Minecraft release, while Forge stalled at version 9.5.19 for Minecraft 1.20.1 in April 2026 and has not been updated since. The mod requires installation on both client and server for every loader.
What Artifacts Adds
Every artifact is tied to a specific vanilla structure and must be found through exploration rather than crafted. Notable items include:
- Cloud in a Bottle: grants a mid-air double jump. Found in mineshafts, bastion treasure chests, and pillager outposts.
- Crystal Heart: permanently increases maximum health. Found in bastion treasure chests, end cities, and pillager outposts.
- Night Vision Goggles: provides permanent night vision. Found in mineshafts, shipwrecks, and ruined portals.
- Vampiric Glove: melee attacks absorb a portion of the target's health. Found in mineshafts, desert pyramids, and village armorers.
- Bunny Hoppers: increases jump height and cancels fall damage. Found in jungle temples, buried treasure, and bastion stables.
- Feral Claws: increases attack speed. Found in shipwrecks, buried treasure chests, and village weaponsmiths.
- Obsidian Skull: grants temporary fire immunity on fire damage. Found in ruined portals, shipwrecks, and mineshafts.
- Scarf of Invisibility: turns the wearer invisible while worn. Found in desert pyramids, pillager outposts, and village tanneries.
The full item set spans mobility, combat, utility, and survival. Other entries include Running Shoes, Snorkel, Universal Attractor, Panic Necklace, Digging Claws, and a Mimic mob that drops a random artifact on defeat.
How to Install Artifacts
- 1.Install Fabric or NeoForge for the current Minecraft release, or Forge if you are capped at Minecraft 1.20.1.
- 2.Download the matching Artifacts jar from the Modrinth page.
- 3.Place the jar in your mods folder.
- 4.Launch Minecraft and load a world. Artifact items will appear in vanilla structure loot automatically.
Multiplayer and Server Use
Artifacts requires installation on both the client and the server. The mod integrates with vanilla loot tables server-side only, so players connecting without the mod will not see artifacts in structure chests. No additional server configuration is needed once the jar is in place.

Questions about Artifacts.
6 questions
How do I install Artifacts?
Download the mod from Modrinth for your loader (Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge) and place the jar in your mods folder. No required dependencies exist. Optional add-ons include Trinkets Updated for dedicated accessory slots on Fabric, Curios API for the same slots on Forge and NeoForge, and Cloth Config API for an in-game settings screen.
Does Artifacts work with Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge?
Yes, but support is uneven between them. Fabric and NeoForge builds track current Minecraft releases, while the Forge build has not moved past version 9.5.19 for Minecraft 1.20.1. Download the jar matching your loader and Minecraft version, since they are not interchangeable.
Which Minecraft version does Artifacts support?
It depends on the loader. Fabric and NeoForge builds keep pace with current Minecraft releases, reaching version 26.1.2 as of August 2026. The Forge build stopped at version 9.5.19 for Minecraft 1.20.1 in April 2026 and has not been updated since, so Forge players are capped there.
Does Artifacts work on multiplayer servers?
Yes, but the mod must be installed on the server as well as the client. Artifact loot is added server-side, so players joining a server without the mod will not find artifacts in vanilla structure chests.
Will removing Artifacts corrupt my world?
Removing the mod does not corrupt the world itself. Any artifact items already in player inventories or containers will become unknown item entities and cannot be used. Back up your world before uninstalling if artifact items are in active use.
Does Artifacts work with Curios API?
Yes, on Forge and NeoForge. Curios API adds dedicated accessory slots so artifact items do not take up armor or offhand slots, mirroring what Trinkets Updated does on Fabric. It is optional, and Artifacts still works without it using vanilla equipment slots instead.
