Battle Towers is a Minecraft Java mod and datapack built by n643064, inspired by AtomicStryker's Battle Towers rather than a port or continuation of it. It drops guarded dungeon towers full of monster spawners and loot chests into normal world generation. Fabric, NeoForge, and Quilt builds reach Minecraft 26.2, Forge trails at 26.1.2, and there is a standalone datapack build for players who skip mod loaders entirely. It needs no other mods to run.
Not the classic AtomicStryker mod
Players who remember battle towers from Hexxit or RLCraft-era modpacks are thinking of AtomicStryker's Battle Towers, the CurseForge mod that last shipped a file for Minecraft 1.12.2 in October 2019 and has not been updated since. This project carries the same name and the same tower-dungeon idea, and its own project page credits AtomicStryker's original as the inspiration, but it is separate code built by a different creator for current Minecraft releases. It is not a continuation, a port, or an official update of the classic mod.
What's inside a Battle Towers dungeon
Each tower is a multi-floor structure guarded by a fireball-launching Wither Skeleton with a boosted health pool. Mid-floor chests draw loot from a mix of vanilla loot tables, including simple dungeon, village mason, stronghold crossing, igloo, village fletcher, village weaponsmith, and village toolsmith pools, alongside a custom battle_towers:treasure table. The chests on the top floor pull only from the village weaponsmith, simple dungeon, and treasure tables, and that treasure table can hold enchanted books, diamonds, emeralds, and gold ingots.
Loader support and current versions
- Fabric, NeoForge, and Quilt: build 1.3.0, reaching Minecraft 26.2, published 2026-09-09.
- Forge: build 1.3.0, reaching Minecraft 26.1.2, published 2025-12-20, about three months behind the other loaders.
- Datapack: build 1.3.0, reaching Minecraft 26.2, published 2026-09-09, no mod loader required.
- Every build line's version support goes back to Minecraft 1.20.
Installing Battle Towers
For the mod builds, place the loader-matching jar in the world or server's mods folder; see how to install Minecraft mods on Java for the general steps. The datapack build skips a mod loader entirely and drops straight into a world's datapacks folder instead, the same way as other structure-focused data packs like Structory: Towers.
Frequently asked questions
Questions about Battle Towers.
4 questions
Is Battle Towers the same as AtomicStryker's Battle Towers?
No. This is a separate project built by n643064, inspired by AtomicStryker's Battle Towers rather than a port or continuation of it. The original CurseForge mod stopped receiving updates after its last file for Minecraft 1.12.2 in October 2019.
Which Minecraft versions does Battle Towers support?
Fabric, NeoForge, and Quilt builds reach Minecraft 26.2, and the standalone datapack matches them at 26.2. Forge trails behind at 26.1.2, its last build published in December 2025. Every loader's build line goes back to Minecraft 1.20.
Does Battle Towers work as a datapack?
Yes. Modrinth lists a datapack build alongside the Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, and Quilt mod jars, built from the same content. Drop the datapack into a world's datapacks folder to use it without installing a mod loader at all.
What's inside a Battle Towers tower?
Each tower is a multi-floor dungeon with monster spawners and loot chests, guarded by a fireball-launching Wither Skeleton with extra health. Chests draw from vanilla loot tables plus a custom treasure table that can hold enchanted books, diamonds, emeralds, and gold ingots.
