Create Framed is a Create addon that adds coloured and tinted variants of Framed Glass and Tiled Glass. It ships for NeoForge, Fabric, Forge and Quilt, and it belongs on both the client and the server. If you build with Create and want glass that matches a colour palette, this is the whole point of the mod.

Loaders and versions

  • NeoForge: Minecraft 1.18 to 1.21.1. The newest build requires Create, optionally Dye Depot; some builds for 1.19 to 1.20.1 need no dependencies.
  • Fabric: Minecraft 1.18 to 1.20.1. The newest build requires Fabric API and Create Fabric; some builds for 1.20 to 1.20.1 require Create Fabric.
  • Forge: Minecraft 1.18 to 1.20.1. The newest build requires Create; some builds for 1.19 to 1.20.1 need no dependencies.
  • Quilt: Minecraft 1.18 to 1.20.1. The newest build requires Create Fabric; some builds for 1.18 to 1.20.1 require Fabric API and Create Fabric.

What it adds

The recipes follow the pattern you already know from Create's regular Framed Glass. Put the matching coloured glass in a stonecutter and the framed block comes out.

  • Coloured and tinted Framed Glass, cut from the respective coloured glass type in a stonecutter.
  • Door and trapdoor variants, made the same way as the non-coloured Framed Door and Trapdoor.
  • Coloured and tinted Tiled Glass, following the same recipe patterns as Create's regular Framed Glass.

Installing Create Framed

Pick the loader you already play on. If you have not set one up, the guides for Forge and NeoForge and Fabric cover it.

  1. 1.Install the loader and the matching Minecraft release, then add the dependencies listed above for that loader.
  2. 2.Place the Create Framed file in the mods folder of your game directory.
  3. 3.Place the same file in the mods folder of the server you play on.
  4. 4.Launch with the loader's profile and cut the coloured glass in a stonecutter.

Trade-offs

The feature set is narrow. It adds coloured glass, doors and trapdoors. It is also an addon, so it does nothing without Create or its Fabric counterpart in place. The Quilt files are a Fabric-built beta, so expect less polish there than on NeoForge, which has the most recent releases.

Questions about Create: Framed.

4 questions

How do I craft coloured Framed Glass?

Place the matching coloured glass type in a stonecutter. This mirrors how regular Framed Glass is made in Create, so the recipe is easy to remember. Coloured Tiled Glass follows the same recipe patterns as Create's regular Framed Glass.

Can I make coloured Framed Doors and Trapdoors?

Yes. Door and trapdoor variants are made the same way that non-coloured Framed Doors and Trapdoors are made in Create, only starting from the coloured glass type.

Does Create Framed work on multiplayer servers?

It needs to be installed on both sides. Put the file in your own mods folder and in the server's mods folder, using the same loader.

Which loaders does Create Framed support?

It supports NeoForge, Fabric, Forge and Quilt, all for Java Edition. Bedrock Edition cannot load it. Each loader has its own file and its own dependencies, so download the one that matches your loader.
