Diagonal Fences is a Fabric and NeoForge mod by Fuzs that lets fence posts connect diagonally instead of only at right angles, closing pen corners and fence lines without gaps or extra blocks. It runs on the client and the server, and needs the Puzzles Lib library installed alongside it. The mod reaches Minecraft 26.2 on Fabric and NeoForge; a separate Forge build exists but stopped updating years earlier.
What Diagonal Fences changes
Vanilla fences only connect to a neighboring block on the four cardinal sides, so a fence line running at an angle leaves a visible gap at every corner. Diagonal Fences closes that gap by adding a diagonal connection whenever two fence posts meet corner to corner. It detects fences added by other mods automatically, and a diagonalfences:non_diagonal_fences block tag lets a pack builder opt specific fences out if the new shape ever looks wrong. It is a shape-only change: no new blocks, items, or recipes, and it works with most resource packs without extra setup.
Diagonal Fences only reshapes fences. Walls and glass panes get the same diagonal treatment through two separate mods by the same creator, Diagonal Walls and Diagonal Windows, not through this project.
Installing Diagonal Fences and its dependencies
Diagonal Fences requires Puzzles Lib on every loader. A Fabric install also needs Fabric API and Forge Config API Port, since NeoForge already ships its own config system. Drop the mod and its dependencies into the mods folder on both the client and the server; because it changes block shapes, a server skipping it will not show the diagonal connections to players.

What does Diagonal Fences do?
