FancyMenu is a Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge mod for Minecraft Java that replaces the title screen, pause menu, loading and connecting screens, and HUD elements with fully custom layouts. It runs entirely on the client, so modpack authors and solo players can rebrand menus with their own art, buttons, and animated backgrounds without touching server files.

What FancyMenu changes

  • Title screen background, logo, and button layout
  • Pause (escape) menu layout and buttons
  • Loading, connecting, and world-generation screens
  • HUD widgets and on-screen info overlays
  • Layouts are built from editable text-based configuration files

Installation

  1. 1.Install the loader that matches your Minecraft version: Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge.
  2. 2.Download and install the required Melody and Konkrete library mods from Modrinth.
  3. 3.Drop the FancyMenu jar for your loader and Minecraft version into the mods folder.
  4. 4.Launch the game once to generate the default FancyMenu config folder.
  5. 5.Edit or replace the generated layout files to build a custom screen.

Compatibility

FancyMenu requires Keksuccino's Melody and Konkrete library mods to load, and it runs alongside Mod Menu without conflict since the two mods touch different screens. FancyMenu has no server component, so it never needs to be installed on a server or in a server-side modpack profile.

Building a custom layout

Layouts are made of positioned elements (images, text, buttons, animations) saved to a layout file that FancyMenu loads for a specific screen. The demo below walks through creating a simple layout from scratch.

Questions about this entry.

  • How do I install FancyMenu?

Install Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge for your Minecraft version, then add the required Melody and Konkrete library mods alongside the FancyMenu jar in your mods folder. Launch the game once to generate the config folder, then edit the layout files to customize your screens.

  • Does FancyMenu work with Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge?

Yes. FancyMenu publishes separate builds for Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge, each tied to a specific Minecraft version. Pick the download that matches both your loader and your exact game version.

  • Do I need other mods for FancyMenu to work?

Yes. FancyMenu requires Melody and Konkrete, two library mods from the same creator, to load. Both are free downloads on Modrinth and must be installed alongside the FancyMenu jar.

  • Can I use FancyMenu alongside Mod Menu?

Yes. FancyMenu customizes the title screen, pause menu, and loading screens, while Mod Menu shows your installed mod list. The two mods touch different screens and do not conflict.

  • Which Minecraft version does FancyMenu support?

FancyMenu has separate release lines spanning Minecraft 1.12.2 through the current 1.21.x releases. Each build only supports the Minecraft version it was published for, so check the Modrinth file list for the exact match to your version.
