FPS - Display is a small utility mod that puts a live FPS counter on your screen. It runs on Fabric and Quilt, on the client side only, so a multiplayer host needs nothing installed.

Settings menu and config libraries

To open its settings screen in-world you need YetAnotherConfigLib or Cloth Config API. If both are present, YetAnotherConfigLib draws the menu.

Installation

  1. 1.Install Fabric Loader (or Quilt) for the Minecraft release you play.
  2. 2.Pick the file that matches that release from the Modrinth page.
  3. 3.Place the .jar in the mods folder inside your Minecraft directory, .minecraft/mods by default.
  4. 4.Add a config library from the list above if you want the in-world settings menu.
  5. 5.Launch with the Fabric or Quilt profile and the counter appears.

Questions about FPS - Display.

3 questions

Does FPS - Display work on multiplayer servers?

Yes, because it runs only on the client side. The counter reads your own frame rate locally, so a multiplayer host does not need the mod, and you can join servers with it installed. The Modrinth listing marks the client as required and servers as unsupported.

How do I open the FPS - Display settings?

Install either Cloth Config API or YetAnotherConfigLib next to the mod. Without one of them there is no in-world settings screen. When both are installed, YetAnotherConfigLib is used.

Does FPS - Display work on Forge or NeoForge?

Not natively. The creator has no plans to port it to Forge or NeoForge. Some players have run it through Sinytra Connector, but no support is offered for that setup. It targets Fabric first, with Quilt builds available.
